PEZ Motorcycle from Orange County Choppers

OCC Pez Custom Chopper

PezHQ recently ran these photos of a custom Pez motorcycle designed and built by the folks at Orange County Choppers. The episode for this bike hasn’t aired, and there’s no guarantee when, if ever, it will air. They do have a habit of visiting the companies they build bikes for, so some Pez factory footage might be included in the episode.

The Pez bike, which probably cost around $100,000-$150,000, was reportedly made to coincide with a limited edition set of Pez dispensers featuring the crew of Orange County Choppers. If true, this would mark the first dispenser that featured an actual person. You can check out more pictures and read more at the PezHQ link below.

Review: Cola PEZ

Cola Pez

I’ve always been a fan of PEZ. I love the whole ritual of opening the new dispenser and loading it…the whole pseudo-morbid act of pulling candy from a smiling clown’s neck intrigues me. I have many dispensers around my room, and even more packed away in boxes.

It’s not often that a new flavor is released but recently Cola PEZ as well as Raspberry & Cherry have been released in America. I haven’t found any Raspberry or Cherry yet, but I did happen to find some Cola PEZ this past weekend.

Coming in the decidedly un-cola color of off-white, these pez don’t vary in appearance from any other PEZ you’ve ever had. But they do in fact taste like cola. Think RC Cola, mixed with a warm Coke Slurpee. Kind of an extra syrupy soda taste, but not sickly sweet like some sodas can be. It’s also worth noting that Cola PEZ contains no caffeine.

Overall, they are pretty good, and I would definitely buy them again … if I didn’t already have 6 packs to go through.

Hilarious Pez Theater Videos

Steve White's PEZ Theater

I saw this on BoingBoing and to be honest, I really don’t know what’s going on. BoingBoing said:

Steve White is getting ready to tour the south and midwest with his fabulous Pez Theater show. Enjoy sample videos here.

What I do know is that these Pez Theater videos are hilarious. Choose from “Racism Is No Good”, “Love Thy Mother, Beat Thy Wife”, and “Quail Hunt”. Acoording to Steve’s bio, he is a folk artist who has a penchant for PEZ art. From seeing the videos, he has a sense of humor too.

Friday Fun: Pez Keystone

PEZ Keystone game

Today’s Friday Fun comes to us courtesy of the Austrian PEZ website (you do know that PEZ originated in Austria, right?). It’s called Keystone and the English instructions say “Look for PEZ candies in same colours!” and that’s all the English it has. It’s pretty easy to figure out though. Click on any PEZ color that has at least one of the same color above, below, or to the left or right and all of that color that are touching disappear.

The object of this game is to have the fewest PEZ left at the end of the game. It’s actually quite challenging. It takes some thought to get the most cleared. I keep ending up with a score of 10 which can’t be good. What’s your best?

Katrina PEZ raises money for victims

Katrina PEZ

Ron Jones is a PEZHead. He has an obsession with PEZ and when Katrina hit the U.S., he wanted to do something to help. His idea? Get PEZ to create a custom Katrina PEZ dispenser, sell them, and donate all the money to a charity helping Katrina victims.

Ron designed the PEZ dispenser himself and contacted the PEZ Candy Co. in Austria to see if they would make them. They did. 28 days after he sent the design, they sent all 750 of them to Jones so he could sell them to raise money. They charged him NOTHING. He sold them all to fellow collectors and within three months he had sold all of them. He donated a check for $8,298.90 (about $11 each) to the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief fund to assist Katrina victims.

Of course, now you can find them on ebay going for over $30 each (and sometimes $60).
