A few years ago, we reviewed Mo’s Bacon Bar – a milk chocolate bar filled with bacon. The verdict was that the bar was good, but that maybe the milk chocolate didn’t quite have what it takes to stand up to the applewood smoked bacon. Well, I found Mo’s Dark Bacon Bar at World Market, and I’m here to tell you what I think. Does the dark chocolate make the bacon sing?
If you’ve seen the overtly sexual Magnum (“for pleasure seekers”) commercial on TV or seen the Magnum boxes in your grocer’s freezer and wondered if they were any good and/or worth the extra money, I can tell you quickly… yes and yes. The Belgian chocolate is delicious and the ice cream inside is really good, high quality ice cream. This is not ice cream you buy for your kids. If you’re looking for an adult ice cream indulgence, this is the ice cream for you. They coat the ice cream in a softer Belgian milk chocolate then they coat it in the chocolatey shell. Trust me, it’s delicious. Everything about these bars is heavenly.
The maker says “The super-premium ice cream bars are delicately crafted from only the finest ingredients, combining silky vanilla bean or rich chocolate ice cream with thick, crackling Belgian chocolate” and I wouldn’t dispute a word of it. I only tried Classic, Almond, and Double Chocolate but it’s also available in Double Caramel, White, and Dark.

More often than not, when I’m eating a chocolate bar, it’s a regular Hershey bar. As a chocolate enthusiast, I’ve been yearning for the fancy Lindt bars at the grocery store, and what better excuse to put one in my buggy than as my first review for Candy Addict?
When I got home with my treat, I locked myself away to enjoy the chocolate without interruptions of “Mom, she’s hitting me!†or “Mom, where’s my favorite pair of skinny jeans?!†This was the perfect day for a review of chocolate. Momma needed a moment alone for a quick endorphin fix.
Have you ever wondered what a Snickers-Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup mash-up would taste like? I imagine that’s what Mars Inc. was going for when the company released Snickers Peanut Butter Squared, a concoction “filled with peanut butter, peanuts, caramel and nougat and covered in milk chocolate,” as the label explains.
As a fan of both Reese’s and Snickers (though Reese’s cups get the slight edge — I promise Hershey’s didn’t pay me to say that), I anticipated this addition of peanut butter to Snickers bars would be divine. So perhaps my expectations were a little too high; when I bit into the Snickers peanut butter square, I wasn’t blown away. That’s not to say it isn’t tasty — it definitely is. It just tasted like a regular Snickers bar to me but with a little more peanut flavoring. Basically, if you like Snickers, I can’t imagine you wouldn’t like this.
Do you love candy so much you would wear it? Any chocoholic jewelry-lover would be enchanted by these chocolate earrings by jewelry designer Wendy Mahr. The Edible Jewelry Collection also offers a chocolate ring, chocolate pendant, and a cluster of chocolates on a necklace. All of the chocolate jewelry is adorned with edible gold leaf flakes.
They’ve been tested in the blazing Miami sun, and they didn’t melt! They stay nice until you, or someone who thinks they’re sexy, takes a bite! Keep them in their adorable box that they arrive in between wears and away from the heat, and you can wear them several times! They’re a great conversation starter!
After you eat the jewelry, you can send it back to have the chocolate replaced with long-lasting pearls or other stones.
