Nunu Chocolates Bacon Toffee BarFans of highly processed dime-a-dozen sweets, perhaps this particular indulgence isn’t up your alley. With just 8 ingredients (the majority of which most kindergarteners are familiar with), Nunu Chocolates’ Bacon Toffee Bar seems like far less of a devilish indulgence than what you might find at the checkout line of your local grocery store. Of course, I’m not about to suggest that anything incorporating bacon deserves a nutritional halo, and since the version used in this recipe is apparently not certified organic, it’s likely factory farmed which brings up an additional slew of red flags…but Candy Addict® is all about edible escapism, so let’s regroup, shall we?

Sweet Pete's Sea Salt Caramels

It seems like your basic caramel has become a thing of the past. Everywhere I look there are all kinds of fancy caramels topped with special salt from Hawaii or the Himalayas. I’ve also seen flavored caramels like pumpkin or even varieties made with tea. I’ve actually never really wanted to try any of these new fangled caramels but after trying these sea salt caramels from Sweet Pete’s, I’ve developed a new point of view.

Gimbal's Sour Lovers Candy

I’m just going to come out and say it, Gimbal’s Sour Lovers Mix is the absolute BEST sour candy I have ever had! I’ve never had any Gimbal’s candy before and honestly I had never heard of them before I got this bag of goodness. I sure do know about Gimbal’s Candy now! They are so good that I let my husband have a few and from his reaction, I had to hide the bag in order to have enough for me to write this review. It was tough.

Candy Review: Ritter Sport Chocolate

I love everything about Ritter Sport chocolate. I love that it’s a family-owned business since 1912. I love the cheerful colors of the wrappings. I love the squareness of the bars. I love that there are so many unique flavors – Butter Biscuit, Yogurt, Milk Chocolate with Strawberry Creme – and regular Dark and Milk chocolate, too. Most of all, I seriously love the taste of this chocolate. It’s all incredibly good! I’m talking, “I want to try every variety ever made and will hunt for them across the globe”, obsessively good.

Where rock-hard beach boys and beautiful surfer girls ride the waves just moments away from hillside manors of the rich and famous. Home of elite equestrian clubs, five-star detox resorts… and fine, European-style chocolate.

If that last item came as a surprise to you, you’re not alone. Malibu is, after all, starlet territory, and as we all know the it-girls around these parts prefer to subsist on water, air and salad. Thus, it was through pure luck and coincidence that, on my way toward a non-candy related venture in Oxnard, I discovered the splendid K Chocolatier by Diane Kron.
