Candy Recipe: Birthday Cake Bark

Confession: I have four pounds of almond bark makings in my pantry right this second. I love to experiment with all kinds of different candy bark flavors. Last holiday season, I made peanut butter chocolate bark, fruitcake bark, mint chocolate-chip bark, and coffee bark. I wasn’t clever enough to think of this Birthday Cake Bark, though, which is the brainchild ofÂ Jessica at How Sweet It Is.

You don’t have to wait until the holidays to enjoy candy bark anymore! Now you can have your birthday cake bark and eat it too.

Candy Review: Ghirardelli Caramel Latte Chocolate Bar

The Ghirardelli Caramel Latte chocolate bar is a limited-edition bar in Ghiradelli’s filled chocolate bar line. The bar marries Ghirardelli’s signature high-quality chocolate with a coffee-flavored caramel filling. Having lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for several years myself, I have to admit I am a teensy bit biased in Ghirardelli’s favor. And, as a native Portlander, I am way biased in favor of anything that has to do with coffee… as long as it’s good coffee.

Editor’s note: After playing the free lite version of Cut The Rope for about 5 minutes, I immediately bought the full version and it’s one of the best games I have on my iPhone (and I have TONS of games on my iPhone).

Candy Review: Jersey Devil Spicy Chili Chocolate

Jersey Devil Spicy Chocolate Bar

When you think of dark chocolate additives, spicy chocolate isn’t so far-fetched. Cranberries with chocolate is not uncommon, but chocolate+chili+cranberries is definitely unique. Jersey Devil Chocolates boast a 54% cacao dark chocolate bar that includes dried cranberries and chipotle chili. Why cranberries? Because New Jersey (where the company is based) is the 2nd highest producer of the fruit, and the legendary Jersey Devil reportedly lurks in the South Jersey Pine Barrens where the cranberries are grown.
