3 Musketeers Basket

Candy Addict is still in transition, but that doesn’t mean we can’t bring you another fabulous giveaway, this time from 3 Musketeers! For the entire month of March you’ll have the chance to leave a comment telling us your favorite recipe including 3 Musketeers. We’ll pick two winners and they’ll receive a totally fab basket full of 3 Musketeers and 3 Musketeers Mint. I personally love 3 Musketeers, and coming up with recipes sounds like great fun.

As usual, some restrictions apply. You must be over 18 and be a US resident of the Lower 48 (sorry Alaska and Hawaii). Entries must include a recipe and you need to use your real email address when you enter; it won’t be displayed on the site, but we need it to contact you should you win. If you don’t respond within 48 hours of us contacting you, we’ll select another winner. Entries will be accepted until midnight, March 31.

Update: Our winners were Gwen and Tessa. Here are their winning recipes:

Tessa:
First, my love affair with 3 Musketeers began in highschool when our sex ed class consisted of a woman standing up and saying if we had the urge to merge, eat a snickers bar. I raised my hand and said (innocently I swear) “what if prefer 3 musketeers?”and promptly got detention. From that day on, I ate a 3M bar every morning where the principal could see me.

My fave in college was to make 3M hot cocoa. You have to freeze the mini 3 Musketeers first. Once frozen break up into small bits (putting them in a plastic bag helps) and put at a bottom of a mug (enough to cover the bottom third). Pour milk in for the other third and a pinch more. Put in the microwave for about a minute, stir and continue in 30 second intervals until all the chocolate is melted.

Out of college, I’ve been making my own concoction again. Yes, I do go for premade stuff, but hey, once I get a craving it’s easier. 3 Musketeer Cookie Pops. Buy premade sugar cookie doll and roll out. Take a biscuit cutter (or use an empty soup can) and cut out as many circles as you can. You can reroll all the scraps to make more. Cut mini 3 musketeer bars in half. Place one half of a cut mini 3M bar in the center of one of the circles and mold the dough around. Place all molded balls on a greased cookie sheet and cook per the directions of the premade cookie dough. While the dough is cooking, chop up any remaining mini 3M bars and place them on a double boiler and melt. Once the cookies come out of the oven and are still soft, stick popsicle sticks in the center of the balls (you can also cut chopsticks for this but be careful of splinters!). Dip the cookie pops in the melted chocolate and roll in any remaining 3M dust you may have. Place on wax paper then put in the fridge to cool for 30 minutes. Enjoy! There probably is a real recipe for it out there, but this is my “original” version.

Gwen:
Three Musketeers Fried Pies

1 (10-count) can refrigerated biscuits

1 large Three Musketeers bar

Confectioners’ sugar

Roll each biscuit out flat. Cut candy bar into 10 wedges; lay one wedge in middle of each biscuit and fold over.

Crimp edges together and deep fry until golden brown.

Let cool, and roll in confectioners’ sugar.

    3 Musketeers Crescent Roll

1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
    1 stick butter, melted
4 fun size bars of Three Musketeers
    1/4 c. confectioners’ sugar

Cut Musketeers long ways. Tear crescent dough and put Musketeers in middle and roll up. If you can see Musketeers at the ends, pinch together. Brush on melted butter. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. When done sprinkle with confectioners sugar.

Crescent rolls like to multitask :D

I suppose this is a recipe, though it’s really just a preparation method. I like them frozen. You can nibble off the icy-cold chocolatey coating, then slowly suck on the frozen nougat. The flavors are really wonderful, and the changing textures as the nougat thaws in your mouth add to the enjoyment.

It would be interesting to mix pieces of 3 Musketeers into a chocolate cake batter. If you frost the cake, you could also arrange fun size pieces into a star or something.

No bake 3 Musketeers Grasshopper Cheesecake-
Before preparation freeze 1-2 mint 3 Musketeer bars (full size). Let freeze till solid but still chop/cutable
Use 1 box of regular flavored no-bake cheesecake.

Prepare the cheesecahe as directed on the box and set aside the filling.

Cut the bars into small pieces of your choosing, and mix into the filling.

Pour the mixture in the preapred crust and put into the fridge to set up.

When about to serve sprinkle any remaining pieces of the mint musketeers or place mini’s on the top in a design.

Quick, and deliciously sinful! I love mint and this would work just as well using the regualr flavored bars and the chocolate no bake pie mix.

    Enjoy!

If you want something that seems extra gourmet and decadent, but is actually really simple, then you’ll love chocolate truffles, especially with a candy bar twist. Now I do these a lot with Butterfinger, (because they’re my fiance’s favorite), but Three Musketeers are my favorite, so here goes:

Chop up 4 ounces of a plain milk chocolate bar
and 4 fun size three musketeer bars separately.
Microwave 3/4 cup cream until just warm enough to melt chocolate, check temp after 30 seconds (you don’t want to overheat your milk).
Put half of the three musketeers in a bowl with all of the milk chocolate and pour the heated cream over top. Whisk together until creamy.
    Chill the mixture until solid.
Using your hands (or a cookie scoop if you wish, but hands make it fun and messy!) ball up sections of mixture and roll in remaining candy bar bits. (You may also roll in cocoa powder, sprinkles, or espresso for a fun twist)
Place on a serving tray and chill until ready to eat!
    Simply delicious!!!

    Musketeer Crispers

    1 bag 3 Musketeers Miniatures
    2 tablespoons milk
2 1/2 cups Rice Krispies or Cocoa Pebble (the Pebbles taste better!)
3 tablespoons finely chopped walnuts or pecans
    powdered sugar

Chop up the 3 Musketeers minis. Melt the chocolates with the milk in a saucepan, stir until smooth.
Remove from burner and gradually mix in the cereal.
Plop onto waxed paper in tablespoonfuls, cool for ten minutes.
Roll the “plops” into balls. Roll the balls in nuts of powdered sugar.

I am not over 18 years of age, therefore am not eligible for the giveaway. However, this is a tasty recipe that I would like to share, so… enjoy!

    Carol says:

These are about as close to Heaven as one can get.

    3 Musketeer Bars

    3 cups granulated sugar
    3/4 cup light corn syrup
    3/4 cup water
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    3 egg whites
    1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 bags milk chocolate chips (12-ounce bags)

In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt. Heat, stirring, to boiling, then continue to cook, using a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature.

Beat the egg whites until they are stiff and form peaks. Don’t use a plastic bowl for this.
When the sugar solution comes to 270 degrees F, or the soft-crack stage, remove from the heat and pour the mixture in thin streams into the egg whites, blending completely with a mixer set on low speed. Continue to mix until the candy begins to harden to the consistency of dough. This may take as long as 20 minutes. At this point, add the semisweet chocolate chips. Remember that the candy must already be at the consistency of dough when you add the chocolate; the nougat will thicken no more after the chocolate is added. When the chocolate is thoroughly blended and the nougat has thickened, press it into a greased 9×9-inch pan. Refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes.

With a sharp knife, cut the candy in half down the middle of the pan. Then cut across into 7 segments to create a total of 14 bars. Melt the milk chocolate chips in the microwave for 2 minutes on half power, stirring halfway through the heating time. Melt completely, but be careful not to overheat. Resting a bar on a fork (and using your fingers if needed), dip each bar into the chocolate to coat completely and place on wax paper. Cool till firm at room temperature, 1 to 2 hours.

    Makes 14 candy bars.
