Various textures and add-ins make toffee a big candy category. But key to good toffee for me is butter, butter, sugar, sugar, and nuts. In the right ratio, of course. And with a good texture.
Red Rocker Candy’s Cashew Toffee Candy is outstanding by any toffee measure. It’s buttery, nicely sweet, and has a perfect texture: solid, but not rock-hard, with great mouth feel.
But most importantly, this toffee variety has a delicious white chocolate cashew crumble on top that puts this candy into a very high class of tastiness.
Red Rocker Candy began in southern California but today operates from Troy, Virginia. Wherever they are, this company is doing something right, and that’s obvious on the first bite. This is not corporate-tasting candy. I’m sure they make a lot of it, but it tastes like small-batch candy, made with high-quality ingredients. It tastes fresh.
It’s also very rich and close to addictive. Do you have candies where the following happens? You take out two pieces, close up the container because you know how many calories those two pieces have, and try very hard to remain satisfied? Well, yeah. That’s this candy, and no, I did not remain satisfied. Every time I had to go back and have some more. That’s rare for me.
Aside from the great flavor, texture and freshness, Red Rocker Cashew Toffee Candy’s topping stands out as a big addictive factor for me. It’s not a veneer of white chocolate studded with cashews, it’s like a crumbly powder of white chocolate with very fine crushed nuts. And it’s really, really good. It complements the toffee wonderfully.
So, yes, I like this candy. A LOT. If you’re a toffee fan, or at all curious, I thoroughly recommend Red Rocker’s take on this candy classic. They know what they’re doing.
Red Rocker Candy also makes various brittles, barks, and fudge. I hope to eat (er, review) some soon.
Wow, I am eating a piece of my father’s homemade toffee right now! This stuff sounds good, but I don’t think any toffee cn beat my ol’ daddy’s.

December 3rd, 2008 at 4:42 pmTwo of my faves in one! Toffee and cashew nuts!
A friend brought some of this over from the US the other week. It’s a pity it’s so hard to get hold of here in the UK!

December 8th, 2008 at 8:06 amRussell Stover? C’mon, great real.
Ghiradelli? Yeah, whatever.
See’s? Please.
Just two words, Red Rocker.
That’s the real thing. Yes, it’s really that good.
Better than your grandma’s best fudge recipe…and without the lectures.
Better than dying…and going to heaven….but without that really long sleep.
Enough with the words. Just taste it. Please. Red Rocker.
