As a true Candy Addict, I like to make sure I have candy on me everywhere I go. I usually have some snack size bars stashed in my desk drawer at work, some candies hanging out at the bottom of my purse, and a few sweets stashed in my glove compartment. And now, thanks to the help of Aquolina’s Chocolovers perfume, I can literally keep the sweet scent of chocolate on me at all times.
I bought my first bottle of Chocolovers last spring, en route to the All Candy Expo. I was at Sephora (where the perfume is sold) picking up a few things for my trip when I encountered the adorable, heart covered bottle. I’m not going to lie to you guys – I saw the word “choco” on the bottle and bought it without even smelling it. I can’t help it!
When I finally put the perfume on, I was pleasantly surprised; unlike some fake-chocolate scents that smell bitter or burnt, Chocolovers has a lovely scent that is reminiscent of chocolate Tootsie Pops, with a hint of lemon and a touch of spice. I remember telling Caitlin and Brian that I was wearing it as we headed toward the convention center to join the All Candy Expo fun, and both of them said, “I knew I smelled candy somewhere!”
If chocolate scents aren’t your thing, Aquolina also has a “Pink Sugar” line, which is extremely sweet and has a cotton candy-esque aroma. Both scents extend beyond perfume, with body scrub, “hair perfume,” and shower oils also available. The Chocolovers and Pink Sugar lines are designed for people who just want to have a little fun with their scents, and would make excellent gifts for the Candy Addicts in your life.

Mmmm… I’m going to have to pick some of this up! Plus as a bonus, I heard that research showed that sniffing chocolate scents throughout the day actually helps curb your appetite… who knew?

My perfume boasts that it smells like Gin and roses, does this make me a ladylike alcoholic? I was afraid of that.
October 9th, 2008 at 9:16 amWow – forget Stetson cologne or Brut. My wife would go nuts (in a good way) if I smelled like chocolate. Maybe I will buy this for me and Caitlin’s gin and roses for her to wear.
I don’t suppose it’s intended to be a man scent (aka “cologne”) but I’m not tightly tied to society-dictated gender roles, especially since my wife loves chocolate so much.
October 9th, 2008 at 10:58 ami have to say, i thought the names were just gimmicks. i’ve had a sample of pink sugar in my drawer for months now, and i haven’t tried it because i thought it was just a cute name. i had no idea it really smelled like candy. i’ll have to try it now! thanks.
October 9th, 2008 at 11:37 amI hate colognes and perfumes because they make my nose run. But this is a scent I think I could tolerate. Candy perfume FTW!
October 9th, 2008 at 4:39 pmDoesn’t Britney Spears have a line like this? Oh wait, that’s right, she’s teaming up with Starbucks to offer Frappucino fragrances in an effort to help them avoid bankruptcy.
