Candy Review: Junior Mints Deluxe

Junior Mints Deluxe
To all who know me, it’s no secret that I can eat my weight in Junior Mints, so when I first heard about Junior Mints Deluxe, I checked the mail impatiently every day until my samples arrived. When they did, I was a little sad to see that the Florida sun had taken a toll on the confections, but they were still mostly intact, and I got ready to chow down on some minty, chocolaty goodness.

The Deluxe candies are shaped a lot like cherry cordials, but otherwise the concept is the same as regular Junior Mints – dark chocolate on the outside, soft, minty filling on the inside. Here’s what Tootsie Roll Industries has to say about their latest Junior Mints product:

More is better! Take an American candy favorite—Junior Mints; jumbo-size them—these are about half-an ounce each; tweak the textured peppermint so that it’s a reservoir of creamy, fondant center . . . and you’ve got Junior Mints Deluxe, the most decadent member of the Junior Mints candy lineup.

Here’s what I have to say: YUM. Junior Mints Deluxe are teetering toward Awesomely Addictive. I can’t quite deem them worthy of our highest honor, but they’re darned close. If you love regular Junior Mints, definitely try the Deluxe. Even if you’re not a huge fan of the original, the Deluxe are worth a taste anyway. If you don’t like Junior Mints, well, that’s something we simply don’t have in common. I highly recommend Junior Mints Deluxe, and I look forward to finding them in stores near me soon.
