The Jolly Rancher Passion Mix bag is going to make some of you very, very happy – because while it does not contain the Holy Grail of Jolly Rancherness (that would be the lemon flavor), it does contain the second best flavor: peach! In my earlier post about the Classic Mix of Jolly Rancher flavors, several comments lamented the demise of the peach flavor. Good news, Candy Addicts, it’s here in all its artificial peachy delicious goodness!
The Passion Mix bag is comprised of five flavors:
Fruit Punch: A strong, delicious flavor of the fruit punch drinks we had as a kid and wish we could justify as an adult. The color is exactly right, too – not as red as a cherry flavor nor as pink as a strawberry, it’s got that beautiful dark pink color we’ve all grown to associate with fruit punch.
Strawberry: This was the least successful of the flavors, but it still tastes terrific. The entire bag was great, actually, but this flavor is the worst of them. It’s nice, but not as WOW-factor as the other ones. Similar in color to the raspberry but not as dark, it’s a nice candy – just benign.
Peach: Far and away the single best flavor of Jolly Rancher in existence today – which I can say with confidence since I’ve never tried a lemon one! This one smells great, tastes even better, and is just… heavenly! Literally I’ll pop one into my mouth and find myself swooning with delight and making various mmmm sounds.
Raspberry: A dark red candy, the raspberry in this mix is nicer than the blue raspberry in the Classic mix, but probably because I don’t quite get the whole “blue” raspberry concept in the first place. It’s more of a natural raspberry flavor than a wholly artificial one.
Orange: Admittedly I’m not a huge fan of orange-flavored stuff (unless it’s Tang) but this candy is actually quite nice. It’s a good thing I like it, because about 80% of the bag was orange! (I would know, I’m a candy sorter!) The flavor isn’t quite as intense as I would like (no Tang here), but it is nice and tasty and satisfies the urge for something a little sweet quite nicely.
The Passion Mix bag is a good one, as it’s got some nice simple flavors like the berry ones, and some more complex flavors like the peach and fruit punch. Almost every flavor in this bag makes it into my fantasy All-Stars bag of Jolly Ranchers – the bag I’d create if I ruled the world – so all in all well worth buying and eating. I actually have yet to meet a Jolly Rancher I didn’t like… but then there IS that mystery lemon out there….

Re: Your picture! That is TOTALLY the way I lay out my candy! Especially my gummies. Yeah, I’m one of those Candy related OCD sorters.
May 29th, 2008 at 10:29 amI bought a bag of these because they were out of original flavor bags and I saw that the tropical mix included the peach flavor. I was SO disappointed when I had eaten the whole bag and did not get even one single peach jolly rancher. I didn’t really like the other flavors. Raspberry and Fruit Punch were okay. Next time they’re sold out of original flavor, I’ll get a different candy.
May 29th, 2008 at 2:39 pmthere needs to be more passionfruit flavour sweets i think. that’s a good taste that they’re missing out on. especially seeing as it’s a “passion mix”
May 29th, 2008 at 4:18 pmI will have to try the peach kind. I was a die hard lemon Jolly Rancher fan as a child, and miss them dearly now.
May 30th, 2008 at 12:06 pmHow bout the chage in the fomula of these. I am not that old, but when I was a kid we used to have contests to see who could stick one between their teeth and clenth down. It would take a minute or two to get your mouth back open again, and could possibly cost you a filling. Nowadays, you bite into one not too hard, and they shatter. This is what made the jolly rancher for me.
May 31st, 2008 at 2:31 amI would also like to include apple as one of the best tasting apple flavor candies made!
Oh man, I love you guys! I’ve been searching for fruit punch Jolly Ranchers forever; I used to love them as a kid! Haven’t seen them in a long time, but I’ll have to hunt these down now… any recommendations for a brick & mortar store that might sell them?
June 1st, 2008 at 12:12 amThank you, thank you and thank you!
June 9th, 2008 at 5:08 amA new flavor to Jolly Ranchers?! I didn’t know that. But you guys keep me updated 24/7. Aaah, they all just sound so heavenly. The only thing I don’t get is why everyone finds the whole ‘Blue Raspberry’ flavor weird, though.
Hi!
I can’t find the passion fruit mix anymore! The Peach and Raspberry are my favorites!!!! The blue raspberry is very different than the pink raspberry. I looked on Hershey’s website and they no longer list the passion fruit mix.
September 13th, 2008 at 10:34 amI just read that Jolly Rancher has 24!! fruit flavors, plus cinnamon! I remember tons when I was a kid, like pineapple and a weird caramel nut flavor stick . . . but now all I can find are about 7-8 flavors. Does anyone know the full list and more importantly, WHERE can I get a hold of them??? Thanks, Kristin
October 15th, 2008 at 2:47 pmThe passion fruit mix is readily available. I bought some a couple of weeks ago in a Rite-Aid drug store.
I have to say, though, that I hate the peach ones. I ate the rest of the bag and threw the peach ones out. I couldn’t find anybody else who wanted them.
