Snickers Rockin Nut Road
I thought I’d try something different with this review… consider it a kind of “stream of consciousness” review. I’m going to write what comes to mind as I try the Snickers Rockin’ Nut Road.

The new Rockin’ Nut Road Snickers wrapper promises “almonds, caramel and marshmallow-flavored nougat wrapped in dark chocolate” – sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? Opening it, there really is no real aroma at all. Biting into it, I see that the nougat is snow white so not only does it taste like marshmallow, it looks like marshmallow too. The one thing that hits me, besides the marshmallow taste, is that it’s not overly sweet like a regular Snickers can be.

The Rockin’ Nut Road Snickers is very s’mores-ish tasting and the almond gives it a similar consistency that graham crackers would. The almond flavor isn’t very strong though – the most prevalent flavor is the marshmallow nougat. I don’t really taste the caramel at all, which is a shame because I really love caramel. The choice to go with dark chocolate was a wise move – Snickers milk chocolate would have made it too sweet.

I like the Snickers Rockin’ Nut Road. It’s not my favorite, and I would probably choose a regular Snickers over this if given the choice, but if you like marshmallow, this might be a candy bar you could really get into. These are a limited edition candy, so if you want to try this, pick one up when you see it in your local store. I haven’t seen these in stores yet (they were sent to me to review), so if/when you see them in a store, leave a comment and let us know when/where you spotted them.

what is the constituent of nuogat in snicker?
Is there gelatin in snicker?, if yes,is it halal?
Kindly help find answers to these questions cause snickers is one great delicious chocolate.

Fatima, it is halal. It has no gelatin in it. I’ve got one box given to me by my friend. He works for some company that gets all the samples. Personally I prefer the original snickers since I am not into marshmallow candies. The package says UD on it which means it is kosher so it is safe for Muslims to eat. I hope this helps

I just saw these today (7/21/08) in a 7-Eleven in Philadelphia (PA) when I was at Temple University. I was going to buy one, but I think I’ll wait. I searched online and found a post on another website (associated with Mars, Incorporated) that said they will be available nationwide September 2008. The statement was in a report about a candy expo held earlier this year.

BC- thank you, thank you, thank you! I had been searching for this since March and had finally given up. So happy to hear they’ll finally be out.

These are available at Walgreens right now (I work there), they are our “suggestive sell” for August, kind of like the item of the month. I’ve already eaten 4 of them, I’m completely hooked. Yum!

I’m a big fan of Milky Way Midnight candy bars so I thought I might like these as well. However, after trying them I think they taste a little too similar. The Snickers Rockin’ Nut Road bar is basically a Milky Way Midnight with softer, less vanilla tasting nougat with some annoying almonds thrown in that don’t really enhance the flavor of the bar. My advice is go for the Midnight or just stick with regular Snickers.

They’re available in the Desert Southwest (my area), at Walgreen’s. Delicious! :-) Hope they’ll continue being made, and not just a “limited edition” bar.

    TIP:

to show the bar’s cross-section better,
FREEZE the candy bar, then it will snap
at any section with a VERY CLEAN break!

I got a much better picture of the bar’s,
    insides using this method.

I just saw the fun size version of these in Tsrget’s halloween section. I didn’t really like it until I tried one frozen.. now I can’t get enough of them.

Discovered this at c-stores while on a road trip over the holidays. I’m been on a regular Snickers kick for a while, though I usually prefer dark chocolate I don’t think it goes that well with the salty peanuts, and while I love almonds like the Almond Snickers I’ve been wishing they’d combine and get dark & almonds in a single bar. So I’m thrilled with the Rocking Nut Road! I’d prefer more almonds and less nougat (or the vanilla nougat that dark Milky Ways use). Looks like they’ve already taken them off their website, so I suppose supplies will start dwindling soon. Must go to Sam’s and stock up!
