“Peeps Are A Girl’s Best Friend” is the title of the winning entry of last year’s Peeps Diorama contest. Yes, you heard me right. There’s such a thing as a Peeps Diorama contest. The folks over at the Washington Post have started this yearly contest showcasing the favorite Easter treat to test the creative skills of Peeps lovers alike.
The gallery of the diorama entries is truly impressive to look at with different themes ranging from social commentary to playful puns and pop culture references. It’s really fun to see how Peeps fans decided to use their favorite candy as an artistic medium. Don’t like feeling left out of the fun? This year’s contest is now open for submissions, so be sure to check it out. Please let us know if you plan to enter. Also, don’t forget to share which diorama from last year is your favorite!

That is so awesome and nuts at the same time. I mean a co-worker and I looked through them all and was “like who has that much time.” It looks like fun though.
February 27th, 2008 at 11:07 amLord. This is adorable. And this is rapidly becoming one of my favorite blogs. Thanks for getting me through the work day!
February 27th, 2008 at 12:25 pmI love that people are putting this much time into peep art for fun. I need to dedicate more of my time to fun, wacky things like this!
February 27th, 2008 at 6:36 pmWow, some of those are crazy but also very creative. That would be an interesting prjoect to do one day, not just with Peeps but other candy too.
February 27th, 2008 at 10:10 pmJeez, and all I ever managed was a group hug from the 5 Peeps chicks I put in the microwave! But it was a very cool looking group Peep hug! Seriously, I love stuff like this and would love to do this with a friend (it’d be more fun that way). A few Peep-aholics like me come to mind. I’m known in parts of CT for my love of Peeps, so I do have a Peep rep to uphold. This was a great story and link to all the photos, thank you for that! I see the Peeps chicks come in green now…and the bunnies in cocoa flavor. That’s new for me and was a fun discovery the other day in the 36′ Easter candy aisle in Walgreens! I LOVE PEEPS! But best if a bit stale…
February 28th, 2008 at 3:28 amI like them all and I hope I win the contest.
