Today, I realized that this site, Candy Addict, ranks #2 (behind Wikipedia) on Google when you search for the word candy. Well, #2 and #3 if you count the sub-entry too). Last time I looked we were #12. I am shocked, amazed, and excited about this. It just blows my mind that in less than two years we have become popular enough to gain the #2 ranking for candy with Google. That was never my intention when I started this site. I just wanted to write about candy and hoped that more than my immediate family and friends would read the site.
Do me a favor, will you? Google for the word candy and leave a comment that tells me what position Candy Addict first shows up and where you are located (city/state/country) – it seems to vary by locality – I’m just curious. Thanks!
Also, thanks so much to all the people that have linked to the site, told their friends about the site, and that keep coming back day after day! We couldn’t have done it without you.

Congrats on the Google ranking! I live in Los Angeles and when I Googled you, your site came up third after two imdb listings for movies named Candy.

I googled ‘candy’ here in the UK using the UK version of google (.co.uk) and you came up 69th. The Wikipedia candy was fourth.

There are ways for you to find out your placement from different countries… you can proxy using some open proxy IP address and just http://www.Arin.net to find out where that address is, then http://www.WhatIsMyIP.com to verify it is stripping out your IP and using their own at the proxy. Then go to Google and search out your placement.
There is another way… but this is not guaranteed to be as accurate. Replace the country code on this link with whatever country code you want Google to show results for:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&rls=GGGL%2CGGGL%3A2006-30%2CGGGL%3Aen&gl=uk&q=candy
(notice the country code is “gl=xx” near the end or the URL)
The above country code I used is UK.
