Neapolitan Kisses
I heard about these Kisses recently thanks to a reader and I immediately began a quest for them. The quest didn’t last long since they were being advertised by my local CVS Pharmacy. Seems like these days there’s another new “Limited Edition” candy practically every day – and Hershey’s Kisses seem to be leading the pack. Perhaps their small size, and short ingredient list allow the folks at Hershey to experiment, test, and sell flavors at a faster rate than a more complicated candy would allow.
The next two iterations to come along are both ice cream themed: Neapolitan and Double Fudge. I always break up my Limited Edition Kisses into two categories: filled and flavored. The “filled” have a liquid-y center, while the “flavored” are simply flavored differently than the traditional Kisses. These both fall under the flavored category.
The Neapolitan flavor is basically a combination of two other Kisses: the regular Kisses, and the Strawberry Creme Kisses. Nothing mind blowing here, but it’s an interesting combination, and enjoyable if you like the ice cream. The flavors do go well together, just like they do with the ice cream, so pick them up if you’re a fan.
Double Fudge Kisses
The Double Fudge Kisses are very similar to an old Limited Edition flavor they used to offer: Double Chocolate. Basically it’s two different types of chocolate, stacked on top of each other. To be totally honest, they don’t even taste all that different from standard Kisses. Perhaps a little of a fudge aftertaste, but it’s nothing that’s really all that noticeable.
Overall, these two flavors are interesting, but I feel sort of slighted by both of them. There’s nothing really all that special about them, other than that they’re “Limited Editions”.
I can’t wait to find these! :)

I have tried almost all of the limited editions, and these were just okay. the neapolitan only tasted like strawberry. it had a pretty wrapper though! My fingers are crossed for a white chocolate macadamia one!

January 10th, 2008 at 8:17 pmEbay Ebay Ebay. That’s the only place I’ve seen the matcha and neopolitian kisses. The neopolitian ones were soo disapointing. The Matcha ones are said to only be sold in Asia. If you want a less expensive alternative, you could try the rich matcha chocolate bar from lotte, also on Ebay.
February 23rd, 2008 at 5:33 pmI loved the neopolitian kisses. My mom happened upon them and had them in her candy dish. After trying one, I went on a quest to find them. I was unsuccessful and disappointed. She could not even remember where she had purchased them. I would order them if I could. I can’t wait until they are out again.
