Unlike fellow Candy Addict Caitlin, I’m not a fan of licorice. My mind can never parse the idea that this stuff is meant to be candy. However, I can certainly appreciate when someone comes up with a creative use for the sweet, like this winner of a unique fashion show that took place in Hastings, New Zealand. The show contained outfits that were completely edible or recyclable. The idea for the winning dress came from a group of teenagers (naturally), and it was modeled by 15 year-old Saskia van Rijk.
The costume included licorice bracelets, licorice earrings, a fake tongue bought from a joke store and the piece de resistance, a toffee guitar. “They said if we won, I had to break the guitar on the stage, so that’s what I did,” Saskia said. “It smashed really well. “
Rock on! She wins major points from me for the KISS homage too.
What a great design! I love it! :D
