Candy Review: Blood Orange Cordials from Koppers Chocolate

Blood Orange Cordial

I did it! I found another Blood Orange flavored candy … something I thought I’d never do. The last review of Blood Orange candy intrigued some readers, and frightened others. I definitely liked it though, so I was excited when I was browsing the enormous Koopers booth at the Philly Candy Show and came across their Blood Orange candy.

I would describe them as a ball of chocolate that is about the size of a large gumball, but filled with creamy blood orange filling. They were really delicious, and had a similar flavor to the Blood Orange Ritter Sport I reviewed a while back.

These differ from the traditional cherry cordial which I know and love – instead, the flavoring comes from a creme filling, similar to the Hershey’s Cordial Kisses. They were still excellent though, and still a fairly unique taste if you’re tired of the standard candy fare you’ve been eating for years.

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find a source for them online (except for wholesale), which is kind of a bummer as I’d like to have some more. If any readers know of a source, let me know in the comments section below!

  1. Don’t know of a source for these cordials, but I gotta tell you:
I was so intrigued by the blood orange Ritter Sport you posted that I begged my friend, who was flying to Germany and Austria for two months, to find one for me.
When she came back, I was sorely disappointed. Kind of. See, she got her instructions mixed up. She thought that the blood orange one was the only one I DIDN’T want. On the upside, she did bring back 22 OTHER flavours.
    Sigh.
I guess my tastebuds will just have to suffer without for a while longer.

Now, where’s that Rum Raisin & Hazelnut bar I was munching on? Hmm…
