Candy Addict’s one year anniversary is October 2, so we thought we’d celebrate by doing the one thing Candy Addicts will most appreciate – we’re giving away candy and lots of it! I got in touch with a bunch of candy companies and begged for some candy to give away and they delivered – over $1200 worth of candy!

We are giving away five prize packs and there are multiple ways to win a prize. You can enter each contest/giveaway once, so feel free to enter all three giveaways, but only enter each one once. Contests/giveaways only open to U.S. residents (sorry non-U.S. readers) and it is void where prohibited. Family members of Candy Addict writers are not eligible to win, so don’t bother entering (sorry, sisters!). Must be 18 years or older to enter. All entries must be received before October 1, 2006 (EST). Prizes subject to change (simply because I may have typed them in wrong). One prize per person/email address/mailing address. If you happen to win two prizes, you will get the larger of the two.

I hate spam more than you do and I promise you will get no Candy Addict spam nor will you get signed up for a newsletter or anything. If you get an email from us, it’s to tell you that you won. That’s it. Once the contest is over, I will delete the emails. Promise.

UPDATE: Follow directions! I have been getting some entries with the incorrect subject in the email. I setup filters to put the entries in the correct email folder and if you don’t have the correct subject, it won’t count. Note: I had to change the email addresses to foil some cheaters, but if you submitted to the previous email, your entry still counts.

1st prize
First prize will be randomly drawn from all correct entries in the Candy Scavenger Hunt. Entries must be received before October 1, 2006.

The first correct scavenger hunt entry will win a consolation prize pack (see “Consolation Prizes” way below). UPDATE: Congrats go to Michael Shaw of VA for being the first correct entry.

2nd prize
Second prize can be won by linking to Candy Addict somewhere on the internet. If you have a website/blog put up a link to https://candyaddict.com/blog. A link means it is clickable – just putting the text on a webpage won’t cut it. If you don’t have your own site, put a link to Candy Addict in a forum or something – anywhere you can as long as the page is accessible without requiring any kind of login or password.

Just put a link up to the main page (https://candyaddict.com/blog – NO WWW) or to any specific article you think is interesting. Send the location of the link to DELETED along with your mailing address. The subject should be “ILINKEDTOYOU” (without the quotes). We will randomly draw one “linker” to win the second prize.
NOTE: This link must still be live at the time of the drawing – if your name/link is drawn and the link is no longer on the page, I will draw another name/link to be the winner and yours will be tossed.

Third prize is the easiest to win – just send an email to 2006randomcontest@candyaddict.com with the subject of “Random Drawing” (with no quotes) and enclose your postal mailing address. We will randomly draw one entry to be the third prize winner. Third prize consists of:

  43. Oh please give me some candy. I love candy any kind is good and my husband loves it too. So we sure would make good use of it. It may not be good for us but i know we would eat it any way. So bring it on. Thank you

  44. I LOVE CANDY!!! And me and my kids fight over it. I buy it in large quantities and hide it from them. They are 10 and 15. Sometimes we eat candy for dinner. I control the candy so I can have the most. My 10yr old son hunts for the candy and sometimes he finds it so I have to continue to hide it on a weekly basis. Please enter me in the candy sweepstakes. I would appreciate any candy that I win.

  45. I am a Diabetic and it seems that I always seem to over exert myself and need candy to bring me up. This is the BEST way to bring up the blood sugar I can think of whithout over doing it and with variety YES!
