Rock, Paper, Scissors Candy

Rock, Paper, Scissors Candy

While researching the Top 10 Grossest Candies List, I stumbled upon the Rock, Scissors, Paper Candy seen above. I couldn’t find much info on it, but it looks self-explanatory. It’s a tube of generic candy/gum and on top the hand can somehow be made into the international symbols for rock, paper, and scissors.

Seems like an odd idea for a candy since kids always have their own hand(s) with them to play the game anyway. Notice that the middle and pointer fingers are connected so you can’t turn it into “Flippin’ The Bird Candy” (though that might be a big seller with the teenage crowd). I’ve never seen this in retail stores and I couldn’t find any online retailers that sell this in singles – they only sell it in 12 and 24 packs.

  1. Yeah, I immediately noticed the “no bird flipping” quality to it right away. I got a big chuckle that you noticed it also. Thanks for the chuckle.

  2. I saw these over the weekend at the Japanese supermarket in LA. (I had to look at the fingers to be sure … and it’s true, no chance for obscenities there … not even “hang loose”)

RESPONSE: I should have thought of “hang loose”! Good call!

  3. I’ve seen these at an H.E.B. in Austin, TX. I bought them as a novelty gift about two years ago, so I don’t know if they’re still there. We had a surprising amount of fun with the simple contraption.
