Over at the “a sampler of things” blog, Dan has posted some awesome of examples of candy bar wrappers from the 40s and 50s. I have never heard of any of them before. Some of my favorites are:

  • Monkey Bar – what a great name!
  • Cold Turkey – who thought that would sell?
  • Fig Pie – ewww!

  1. WOW! My father in law grew up in Kansas City Mo. in the 40s and the Monkey bar was his favorite candy. He still speaks fondly of it to this day. I have looked EVERYWHERE for any reference to this and your page is the only thing I have seen to date. Any chance this is still sold or a recepie is about? PLEASE let me know. Any information would be a help. Thanks!
