This is an insanely funny post over at Kevin’s Tech Ramblings and it is the definitive source on the internet for information on Chocolate Covered Bacon:
…what would happen if someone was just crazy enough to combine chocolate and bacon? Several questions came to mind; maybe bacon and chocolate aren’t supposed to be combined? Maybe combining them could start the apocalypse? With complete careless recklessness for ourselves and the rest of the planet we decided it had to be done.

I love chocolate. I love bacon. I cannot comprehend why anyone would want to mix these two wonderful flavors. Of course, chocolate covered pretzels are yummy, so who knows.
RESPONSE: I could not agree with you more. Sounds awful. –The Candy Kid

I tried it and it’s not bad. Both are better by themselves, but they are not that bad together.
November 26th, 2005 at 11:34 am[...] What is it with candy and bacon? You would think the two would never meet, but they have…multiple times. Chocolate-covered bacon, bacon-flavored jellybeans, and now Gummi Bacon. Serve some Gummi Bacon on a plate with some gummi fried eggs and you’re well on your way to a well-balanced (gummi) meal. Uncle Oinker’s Gummy Bacon These succulent strips of Gummy Bacon are so realistic you’ll want to fry some up and serve them with an egg and a side of hash browns. But please don’t. September 24th, 2007 at 9:30 pmI can bring home the bacon…fry it up in a pan…melt that chocolate…yeh…I’m a sweet and salty woman!!
December 23rd, 2007 at 1:46 pmBacon is the most kickass food on the entire planet, mixing it with chocolate will just be mind bogglingly awesome!
May 21st, 2008 at 6:46 pmGreat plan…NO, Excellent plan!
I actually think real bacon + chocolate is awesome. My mom made doughnuts one morning, and made a chocolate glaze to frost them with. She also made bacon. I got the strangest idea, smelling the bacon and the chocolate at the same time. I dipped the bacon into the chocolate glaze, and WALAHH! It was wonderful!!! But I don’t think bacon-flavored chocolate bars will have the same effect… you gotta do it yourself, man.
June 6th, 2008 at 12:34 amI agree that the salty/sweet combination has great potential (my favorite Ben and Jerry’s flavor, Chubby Hubby, has the sweet/salty thing going on.) But, I’d really prefer it to be fresh. I’d be a bit leary of eating, say, chocolate-covered bacon out of a box. Only homemade chocolate-covered bacon for me. :)
