Halloween Story: Smarties or Dum-Dums?

Smarties

I can’t remember where I heard this story. I may have read it in a magazine a long time ago…I’m not sure. I’m not sure if it really happened or not, but I’m going to tell it anyway because I think it’s cute whether it’s true or not:

There was this math teacher that would ask each trick-or-treater on halloween an age-appropriate math question….if you got it right you got Smarties. If you got it wrong, you got a Dum-Dum.

I would definitely choose Smarties over a Dum-Dum…..unless I could pick my flavor of Dum-Dum – I LOVE the Root Beer flavored Dum-Dums.

  1. This is a perfect post for the next Tar Heel Tavern (carnival of NC bloggers).

  2. Those aren’t SMARTIES, those are rockets.
Here are what we call SMARTIES in Canada.

I also highly recommend trying a canadian version of your chocolate bars at some point in time. The chocolate, in my opinion, is much richer and smoother.

RESPONSE: We covered the differences in US Smarties and Canadian Smarties already here:

and as for the chocolate, are you volunteering to send me some to review? :)
