FAIRFIELD, Calif., June 25 – Who will dream up the next new Jelly Belly(R) jelly bean flavor, and what will it be? Jelly Belly Candy Company invites fans to help create the jelly bean of their dreams by dreaming up an original new flavor of Jelly Belly jelly bean at http://www.DreamBeanContest.com.

Fans have just a few weeks to enter before the July 31, 2008 deadline. Eight finalists will be chosen and their dreamy flavor ideas will be posted on the contest site where fans will vote the best one.

The winner with the dreamiest new flavor will receive a $10,000 cash prize and the chance to have his or her flavor become the newest Jelly Belly flavor sensation.

Ideas for new flavors abound, including online silly suggestions for “Girly Flavors” on candyaddict.com and thousands of emails and letters to the company. Jelly Belly decided to take it to the next level by making the next new flavor a competition. With 50 official flavors now in the Jelly Belly line, plus trial flavors of Pomegranate and Dark Chocolate, jelly bean lovers will need to come up with an original idea not already in the world’s largest selection of flavors.

The contest site includes a “Bean Builder” to help would-be flavorologists design their dream bean. Choose flavors for the center and the shell, then add colors to your wildest dream of a jelly bean.
