Thirst-quenching flavor combinations make Quench® Gum a hit with athletes and kids alike.

McCormick Place, Chicago IL — Quench® Gum, America’s best selling sports gum, is now available in two new flavor combinations. Featured at the National Confectioner’s Association All Candy Expo, Double Raspberry and Strawberry Watermelon sticks join Double Orange/Fruit flavor as the newest members of the Quench® Gum product line-up.

“With the introduction of these dual-flavor Quench® Gum stick packs, along with our traditional lemon, orange and fruit flavor chunk-style gum, we’ve created a significant product line in the functional candy category,” Mark Lutz, National Sales Manager for Quench® Gum says. Candy or gum with functional benefits, like calcium-rich candy for women or caffeine-laced gum, is a category that has established itself in retail over the past three to four years, Lutz explains. “Quench® Gum has been a functional gum for forty years. We’re a proven success in this category right out of the gate,” he says.

Long known as a high-performance sports gum, Quench® Gum’s mouthwatering fruit flavors are also popular with kids. Lutz feels that the Quench® Gum reputation in sporting goods, along with the fact that kids love it too, allows the product to be successfully marketed in several aisles of the store. “We’re the number-one ranked sports gum in America for three years running,” he says. “Now we can take that success to the general candy and gum market at the same time.”

Along with the release of two new flavor combinations, an eye-catching merchandising display lets retailers feature all three Quench® Gum double flavors in a unique water bottle sidekick/countertop dispenser. “This water bottle display will really catch the attention of consumers and tell the story of our thirst-quenching product at the same time,” Lutz says.
