BERKELEY, Calif., September 11, 2007 - The Scharffen Berger bean-to-bar chocolate-making tradition continues with the introduction of two new bars, the Milk Almond bar and the Antilles Limited Series bar.

About the Milk Almond bar:

Milk Almond blends the crunch of deep roasted almonds with a hint of sea salt to complement the caramel notes of Scharffen Berger’s 41% cacao extra rich milk chocolate.
Milk Almond is certified Kosher and uses organic milk from pasture-raised cows.
The 3-oz. Milk Almond bar is available at specialty shops, natural foods stores and grocery stores nationwide. Suggested retail price of the 3-oz. Milk Almond bar ranges from $3.49 to $5.00.

About the Limited Series Antilles bar:
On rare occasions, specific cacao beans offer flavor profiles that justify presenting them on their own as a Limited Series edition. Limited Series bars are manufactured in small batches and cannot be replicated, as the tastes produced by the beans vary from year to year. Similar to a wine vintage, each Limited Series edition is numbered, marking the harvest from which it was produced. Antilles is number nine.

The 75% cacao Antilles is produced from cacao beans sourced from the Antilles region in the Caribbean.
The Limited Series Antilles is a blend of carefully selected cacao beans from Trinidad, Grenada, coastal Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.
The unique flavor of the 75% cacao Antilles features upfront notes of plum and citrus zest with a lingering deep chocolate finish and mild acidity.
Antilles is certified Kosher.
The Limited Series 3-oz. Antilles bar is available exclusively at Scharffen Berger online and retail boutiques and Whole Foods Markets nationwide. Suggested retail price of the 3 oz. Antilles bar is $6.50.
