MIKE AND IKE® Re-launches ZOURS® Sour Fruit Flavored Candy

Bethlehem, PA, January 2008—Just Born, Inc. the maker of MIKE AND IKE® Brand Candies is excited to announce that ZOURS® has joined the MIKE AND IKE® brand family. The NEW MIKE AND IKE® ZOURS® mix includes an additional fifth flavor to add even more intense sour fruit flavor. The NEW five flavor mix includes Sour Cherry, Sour Lemon, Sour Green Apple, Sour Watermelon and Sour Blue Raspberry. These candies will be available in January 2008.

Kara Borneman, Assistant Brand Manager of the MIKE AND IKE® Brand commented, “We are pleased to broaden the MIKE AND IKE® brand to include a sour fruit flavored variety. ZOURS® candies have always had a dedicated fan base since being introduced in 1999 and will attract new consumers with its eye catching packaging. In addition to the new flavor variety, the product is being re-launched in yellow swirled packaging with metallic accents.”

MIKE AND IKE® ZOURS® will be supported by online advertising, radio support, sampling and its new website WWW.ZOURS.COM launching in the spring of 2008. MIKE AND IKE® ZOURS® will be available in a variety of sizes, including theater boxes, to meet the needs of every customer. Suggested retail price will range from $.25, to $1.59 depending on the size of the package.

The MIKE AND IKE® brand was introduced in 1940. MIKE AND IKE® ZOURS® are gluten free and kosher.

Zours were my favorite candy. They were hard to find but Blockbuster Video had a supply. The box I bought today with the new flavors, just wasn’t up to par with the original Zours. None of the flavors tasted the same and were not as sour as they have been. I am disappointed that the original was changed.

I won’t be buying Zours again.
