The new Snickers Adventure Bar is a limited edition tie-in with the new Indian Jones movie: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Obviously, they aren’t available yet, but here at Candy Addict you’re getting a sneak peek! The packaging design is nice, with an image of Indy from the original trilogy posters on it.
The tag line on the side says “New Flavor Kick!” but doesn’t exactly say what. The back of the bar hints at the flavor combination with a description of a “cliffhanger kick of exotic spice and a hint of sweet coconut.” Sounds interesting! Also on the back the wrapper has “Arti-FACTs” on them which are Indiana Jones’ and Snickers’ information. The one I got was fact 8/8 and listed a scene location for Temple of Doom in Shanghai and claiming Snickers as the #1 selling bar in China.

It’s a good day for a Candy Addict when you stumble upon a new candy that rocks your world. I was in Walgreen’s the other day picking up a prescription for my newly-acquired bronchitis (long story) and what did I see but a display of new Fire Twizzlers. A cinnamon Twizzlers! When had these come out? I had heard nothing about them! With my love of all things cinnamon, especially Atomic Fireballs, I had to try them.
These Fire Twizzlers are of the “Pull – n – Peel” variety; nine shoestring-thin ropes stuck together to make one solid rope. As you can see from the picture, they are nice and fresh and wonderfully soft. If you like hot cinnamon candy like Fireballs, you’ll love these.
Some of the bites have a nice spicy flavor to them that just tastes good. Some of them have a really spicy kick to them that makes me say “Damn, this is hot!” (but in a really good way). I love these things. They’re way better than Chewy Atomic Fireballs. These are the best non-chocolate candy I have eaten in ages and I am awarding them our coveted CandyAddict.com Awesomely Addictive Candy Award. I’m on my second bag in less than a week.
I talked with someone from Hershey’s and was told that “Fire Twizzlers are a customer exclusive – available only through Walgreens” – so if you want some of these, Walgreens is the only place to find them. The “Twizzler brand team” is supposed to be getting back with me with more information, but I wanted to go ahead and get this review out. I’ll update it if I get any more good info.

It’s not an everyday event that a new limited edition slips by me. I’m always searching for what the companies are coming out with next. Which is why I was so surprised to walk into my local convenience store and see a Snickers staring at me with a bright and different wrapper. It’s too bad no one with me had a camera, because the double take I made was nothing short of cinematic. How could a new Snickers show up without me knowing about it first?
The new candy on the block is Snickers Nut ‘n Butter Crunch. The wrapper is a bright red-orange with the description: “milk chocolate, peanuts and creamy peanut butter taste.” Sounds interesting! The aroma hints that there’s lots of peanut butter in there. It smells like a Reese’s: sweet chocolate and a salty roasted peanut butter aroma.

Good lord this candy bar is good. Seriously. I think of all the Limited Edition candy I have tried, this is by far the best. The wrapper says “Coffee Caramel & Chocolate Cookie Covered in Milk Chocolate” and the coffee flavor is just right – not too strong and not too weak. The chocolate cookie goes perfectly with the coffee flavor and the milk chocolate. Looking on the ingredient list, I see “espresso ground coffee” as the last ingredient, so it looks like it gets its coffee taste honestly.
Just to make sure I wasn’t the only one who thought this Twix Java was good, I shared and gave one stick to my wife. She agreed it’s great. It’s definitely good enough to earn our coveted CandyAddict.com Awesomely Addictive Candy Award. It’s that good.
According to the press CD I got from Mars, “TWIX® Java will be available in retail stores nationwide in December 2007.” Most candies actually hit stores before their scheduled release date, so if you are hankering for some Twix Java goodness, I’d start looking for it in stores right about… NOW. No word on how long the limited edition will last, so get it while you can.

While at the All Candy Expo I got some sneak peeks at some new M&Ms coming soon. Seen above is a banner advertising the new packs of all green M&Ms. Playing off of Candy Urban Legend #3, these packs contain only green M&M’s, for those times when you want to feel a bit frisky.
Next up is Wildly Cherry M&Ms. Available in March 2008, new M&M’S Wildly Cherry Chocolate Candies Limited Edition will be found in select retail stores nationwide. Much like their Razzberry cousins, they will only be available for a limited time and they will be available in all the usual package sizes.

Finally, you will see Mint Crisp M&Ms as a tie-in with the new Indiana Jones movie, set to release in May of 2008. These will be minty and contain rice crisps and will be promoted with the blockbuster movie, much like they did previously with the Pirates Of the Caribbean Pirate Pearls White Chocolate M&M’s.
UPDATE: Here is our review of the Indiana Jones Mint Crisp M&Ms
What’s not to love about more varieties of M&M’s? The only thing I can think of is that some are Limited Edition, so if you fall in love with them, they won’t be around forever – kind of like a high school crush. So sad. But it’s fun while it lasts.
