Candy Review: Jelly Belly Sunkist Citrus Mix

Jelly Belly Citrus Mix

I find Jelly Belly jelly beans really fun to eat so I was delighted to try the Sunkist Citrus Mix. As an added bonus, these jelly beans have added Vitamin C, so you can justify your sugar fix with the knowledge that you’re actually getting some nutrition.

Sunkist Lime: I only had one of these in the bag. The lime flavor was sweet with a little bit of bitterness and a little bit of tartness to it. Even though I only had one to try, the flavor really lingered.

Sunkist Orange: This jelly bean had an artificial orange candy flavor that faded quickly. It was also very sweet. There were lots of these in the bag, but eating more than one didn’t help the flavor to last.

Candy Art Fun: 2nd Graders’ Jelly Bean Portrait

Jellybean Teacher

I got this awesome email the other day from a mom who helped her son make this totally cool jelly bean portrait in school. Check it out! (It looks even better the further away from it you are.)

It was done by 2nd graders in at Saugatuck Elementary School in Westport, CT and is made out of 3,500 jellybeans. The students were “inspired by Vik Muniz and all of his amazing works with food.”

And don’t forget to check out our other jelly bean art articles:

And of course we have an entire category dedicated to different forms of candy art!

I’m back for Part V of my jelly bean adventure. For some reason Brach’s calls their jelly beans “Classic Jelly Bird Eggs,” but to me they are jelly beans!

When I think of the jelly beans I ate as a kid, the Brach’s jelly beans are what I remember. In terms of flavor, these jelly beans are similar to the Necco jelly beans I reviewed a while back. If you’re looking for super sweet, chewy jelly beans, look no further. Don’t expect any tartness or realistic flavors – these jelly beans are all about the sugar. They’re artificially flavored, sugary goodness in all its glory.

SweeTarts Jelly Beans Bag

For the fourth part in our Spring Jelly Bean Hunt, I bring to you SweeTarts Jelly Beans!

The first thing I noticed about these jelly beans was the texture. They’re a lot softer than other jelly beans I’ve tried and they aren’t as chewy. Not that this is bad, it’s just different. Overall, the flavors reminded me of regular SweeTarts, but with some variation in the intensity of either the sweetness or tartness.
