Envyrobubble Gum Collection Station

Envyrobubble Gum Collector

Two inventors, Loredana and Ornelia were taking a casual stroll one day, when they stepped in a wad of gum on the sidewalk and ruined a pair of Manolo Blahniks. That unfortunate incident led them to create a device where people can throw their discarded gum, the Envyrobubble.

Before I worked at my current job, I used to be a manager of an Italian Ice stand, and every morning, one of my jobs was to go out and pressure wash the sidewalk in front of the building to remove all the gum. Undoubtedly, the next morning their would be a whole crop of black circles that were once people’s gum.

The gum is collected into the containers, 1,000 pieces at a time, and then, according to their website, it is turned over to one of the largest recycling companies in North America where they then turn the gum into fertilizer.

White Chocolate Wii Controller

Chocolate Wii Controller

There doesn’t seem to be an end to the creative ways that chocolate and videogames can come together. We’ve seen chocolate PSPs, chocolate Xbox 360 controllers, chocolate NES controllers and cartridges, and now here comes the (white) chocolate Wii controller.

These creative gamers took the packaging the Wii controller (both the Wiimote and the nunchuk) came in and filled the plastic molds with chocolate. These replicas aren’t solid chocolate; they didn’t have enough chocolate to form the entire controller so they used sponge fingers to fill in the space. Still, this is a pretty nifty way to reuse that plastic!

Hmmm, I wonder if they ate their creation afterwards or if it’s destined for eBay?

M&M’s Produces World Wildlife Fund Collectible Banks

M&M's Panda Bank

Combining candy with a good cause is music to my ears. M&M’s and the World Wildlife Fund have joined forces to produce four colorful animal banks: Panda, Dolphin, Bird of Paradise, and Tiger. Each bank costs $10 and comes with M&M’s in colors that match the banks. The banks could make cute gifts or nice additions to any collection, and the candy really does match each bank. The Panda bank has black and white candy; Bird of Paradise contains red, yellow, and green; Dolphin has white and two shades of blue; and Tiger has black, white, and orange.

For every bank purchased, $1 goes to protecting and saving wildlife worldwide. Order all four, and you can have a candy jungle and a healthy dose of good karma!

Candy Shot Glasses

Candy Shot Glasses

Today from that great purveyor of oh-so-useful goods in bulk, Oriental Trading, comes something for the alcoholic Candy Addict in all of us – shot glasses made out of fruit flavored candy!

I can’t help but imagine the hideous, sticky mess that could result from overindulging with these, but I guess that might just add to the fun of a drunken evening. Personally, I don’t drink, but I wouldn’t mind trying a pina colada (virgin, of course) in a banana flavored glass. Then again, I guess pina coladas aren’t typically served in shot glasses… oh, leave me alone! I told you I don’t drink. Sheesh.

Anyway, if you do happen to be the type to occasionally imbibe, at $4.95 for a pack of six you can’t really lose out here (and they’re fat-free!). Just remember – don’t lick the bottom and set it down. Bad bad things could happen. In fact, you may just want to make a rule that these are outside toys; that way, if things get out of hand, the ants will stay outside where they belong.

I’m going to have nightmares of stickiness tonight, I’m sure of it.

Verizon Chocolate Phone

Verizon Chocolate Phone - Cherry

LG’s Chocolate phone, exclusively available from Verizon Wireless, might be the perfect phone for the Candy Addict in all of us. The phone looks like an iPod, can play mp3s, and comes in four different “flavors”: original, white, mint, and cherry.

The Chocolate commercial shows each flavor getting a candy-like coating on a manufacturing line, while Christina Aguilera’s “Candyman” plays in the background. They’re really pushing the candy aspect of this phone. It’s as slim as a candy bar, and Verizon constantly displays the phones wrapped in foil and paper, so they resemble a Hershey’s chocolate bar.

I was curious to see if they carried the candy theme through to the packaging, so I went a-Googling and discovered Gadgetell’s unwrapping of the new (at the time) LG Chocolate phone. Its box is like every other phone on the market. Bummer. They should have at least included a piece of chocolate inside.
