As if you needed another reason to love Scrubs, the character of John Dorian, or even just Zach Braff – he loves chocolate. This Scrubs clip embodies the dream job we all wish we could report to daily (well, that is, except for you crazy people who dislike chocolate). The next season of Scrubs starts October 25, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for some more delicious John Dorian moments.
I wish I could call up Zach Braff and ask him a few questions about the Chocolate King, though. Such as, is being Chocolate King a birthright, or is this a gig any average joe could pick up? Are there any duties, or do you just get to sit around all day stuffing your face with chocolate, surrounded by things made of chocolate? Because that’s a pretty sweet-looking deal, if you ask me. I wonder if there’s such a thing as the Chocolate Queen….
Want some sustenance for an all-night gaming session, something that’ll deliver a kick of caffeine just as well as your Mountain Dew and Bawls? Uncommon Loot thought so. They recently sent over a few Headshot bars, whose packages boast, “Headshot is a candy made for gamers by gamers. Feeling tired owning all those newbs? There is enough energy packed into this bar to improve your game so much, that people will be complaining you have an Aimbot!” Made with guarana, a highly caffeinated berry, the bar promises to pack quite a punch.
The first flavor Uncommon Loot released is Chewy Chocolate Toffee, though they plan to follow up and release new flavors such as Chewy Peanut Butter, Fudge Graham and Mocha Cappuccino every three months. The packaging looks like something a gamer would pick up – it’s silver and adorned with a cross hair and bullet holes.
You know how Starbucks cafes are – they pop up on adjacent street corners, court one another, breed and multiply. You might drive or walk past a dozen of them during your daily commute to work. As if that weren’t enough, now Starbucks and Hershey’s are teaming up to offer coffee and chocolate flavored treats and confections, beginning this fall.
“Chocolate is the perfect complement to coffee and tea and has long been a part of the coffee-house experience. We are excited to bring premium chocolate inspired by Starbucks coffee and cafe flavors to Starbucks customers and chocolate lovers,†said Gerry Lopez, president of Starbucks Global Consumer Products Group, in a press release.
They’re starting with a premium hot chocolate, which should hit shelves sometime this fall. The two companies are also looking into creating chocolate bars, truffles and chocolate-covered coffee beans.
It was really only a matter of time before somebody came up with the idea of combining the efforts of the two companies. Coffee and chocolate belong together. Your mocha agrees.
This just in: M&Ms are getting a razzy makeover. For a limited time, you can try out the latest M&Ms creation – Limited Edition Razzberry M&Ms. They appear to be a milk chocolate confection, and the M&Ms Web site suggests that you move quickly, because “these berry babies will only be in season for so long.” On the M&Ms site, you can send friends and family an e-card featuring the new flavor of M&Ms.
Information on this new candy is thin right now, but check back with us for updates and reviews of Razzberry M&Ms as soon as we get them.
UPDATE: We just received the press release:
M&M’S® Razzberry Chocolate Candies offer the sweet flavor of raspberries as a delightful complement to the classic M&M’S® milk chocolate taste. M&M’S® Razzberry Chocolate Candies are “in season” and available in stores for a berry limited time of six weeks. They will reach their peak in September and October.
To support this first-ever, national launch of a fruit-flavored M&M’S® candy in stores, M&M’S® conducted research and discovered raspberry is one of the most popular fruit flavors.
Shoppers can grab their bags of special limited edition M&M’S® Razzberry Chocolate Candies in prominent, impactful point-of-sale displays nationwide in food, mass, convenience and drug stores. M&M’S® Razzberry Chocolate Candies can be found in a bright pink package on which Red announces, “This is Berry Cool.”
M&M’S® Razzberry Chocolate Candies will be available for only six weeks in food, mass, convenience and drug stores. They are offered in single 1.50 oz., 11.8 oz. and 18.6 oz. packaging for $.55, $2.96 and $4.39 SRP.
I was scouring a gas station candy aisle for some delicious chocolate confections when a bright red, happy, $.79 package of Twizzlers Rainbow Twists screamed “New!†and “A Low Fat Snack!†at me. Though I generally find plain red Twizzlers dull and rarely buy them, I jumped at the chance to try them in six different fruity flavors (and with only a gram of fat for the whole serving). My chocolate fix could wait.
And these do look delicious. The Twizzlers are brightly colored, opaque and shiny, and my 1.9 oz package contained one each of grape, blue raspberry, watermelon, lemonade, orange and strawberry flavors. I’m not sure how new this candy is, exactly – it’s not listed on the Hershey’s site, and I’ve seen reviews of it dating back to late 2006.
