More often than not, when I’m eating a chocolate bar, it’s a regular Hershey bar. As a chocolate enthusiast, I’ve been yearning for the fancy Lindt bars at the grocery store, and what better excuse to put one in my buggy than as my first review for Candy Addict?
When I got home with my treat, I locked myself away to enjoy the chocolate without interruptions of “Mom, she’s hitting me!†or “Mom, where’s my favorite pair of skinny jeans?!†This was the perfect day for a review of chocolate. Momma needed a moment alone for a quick endorphin fix.
First off, the packaging for the Lindt bars is lovely… the box with its pull off tab and slide out top, the fancy, embossed foil. The packaging alone makes you feel like you’re about to bite into something special.
After navigating the posh packaging, I smelled the bar, even scratching the shiny surface a bit, expecting to smell the burn of chili peppers. But it only smelled of chocolate. And at first, it only tasted like chocolate. I was disappointed, thinking this was nothing but a bar of dark chocolate. Then as the chocolate melted away, I tasted the chili. It was a pleasant sensation, the sweet chocolate giving way to the spicy tang.
Several minutes after eating one of the eight squares, the chili taste still lingered in my mouth. The bar was very rich and I could eat only the one. This is definitely a chocolate bar that cannot be eaten in a single sitting. I wrapped the remainder up and hid it away for another day.
Despite my initial dissatisfaction due to a lack of smell and taste, I was pleased with this bar. I will definitely be adding a few to my “mom stash.â€
Thank you for the great and honest review. Happy to hear it was a surprisingly delightful treat for you.

I think it would be neat if they managed to make a truffle out of this flavor.
