Name That Candy: Cone Shaped Lollipops

We recently got an email from a reader named Danielle who has been trying to remember the name of a lollipop she remembers from the 90′s in Louisiana. I wasn’t able to find the name of it anywhere online, so I thought I’d throw it out there for all our loyal readers. Can you help her out with the name? Are they still available? Leave a comment and let us know!

I have been searching for a candy online and I cannot find any leads at all. It was a sucker that was possibly 3-4 colors. Red, Green, Yellow, and maybe clear. Shapped like a cone with wax on the bottom. For some reason, “Rocket Pop” sticks out in my mind but I can’t find anything about it online.

Location: South Louisiana
Approximate Year: in the 90′s.
Quantity: Bought Individually
Wrapper: Clear wrap. The candy was in a cone shape and it was just wrapped around with the top folded over and the bottom extended past the candy.
Size: A few inches tall?

  1. A lot of sites say they’re discontinued but you can get them in new flavors online.

  2. We sell them at work- a fancy grocery store- and they are in the retro candy area under the moniker of unicorn horns.

  3. Hello. I was wondering about astro pops. I used to eat them when I was small and couldn’t remember what they were called. I have been looking for those and wanting to find out what they were called. This website is awesome. Thanks tpo everyone who helped me find out the name of those lollipops.

  4. I loved Astro pops. Those of you that remember will note that they changed it. The stick is on the thin end now. A kid probably put their eye out or something! When the thin part was at the top it would warm and bend in your mouth. Smooth candy….great candy memory!
