So it’s not exactly candy, but an Addict’s gotta have some reason to wake up in the morning. Sure, grabbing a Snickers and calling it a morning meal is always an option, but for those nutritionally-minded readers looking to load up on vitamins and minerals before noon (I kid, I kid – we all know these are basically incognito candy bars), I – Candy Addict’s resident cereal expert – am happy to bring you our list of Top 10 (or so) Chocolate Cereals. Honorable Mentions go out to Cap’n Crunch’s Choco Crunch, Chocolate Chex, and Life Chocolate Oat Crunch, but without further ado, let’s get our AM sugar fix…

I have to politely disagree with your belief that Cocoa Krispies and Cocoa Pebbles should be together. I feel that Cocoa Pebbles is significantly more chocolatey than Cocoa Krispies.
May 13th, 2008 at 2:42 amWas so glad to see Reese’s Puffs on the list! I never keep those babies in the house because I just can’t stay out of the box until it’s empty!
May 13th, 2008 at 10:15 amI have had the chocolate Honey-Combs and they left me disappointed. My kids wouldn’t even eat them, that’s not a good sign. LOL Love Cookie Crisp!!!
May 13th, 2008 at 10:25 amI would have put Cocoa Puffs as number one with Count Chocula coming in at a very close second place.
May 14th, 2008 at 11:28 amI tell you what, you are definitely using the word “addict” correctly if you are looking for a Snickers substitute for your morning meal :)
May 14th, 2008 at 3:10 pmWell, it’s only an opinion – but, I would put REESERs PUFFS as “the” number one top chocolate cereal (and peanut butter list if you have one!)
But, #2 spot ‘aint bad .. Everybody should spread the word
May 14th, 2008 at 3:49 pmI’d call this a top 5 list; 6 – 10 are weak and really shouldn’t be included.
May 15th, 2008 at 12:35 pmI personally prefer something sugary without it being chocolate. Chocolate is just too much for me in the morning.
July 6th, 2008 at 10:26 pmhey! you should have Koko Krunch in your list!
September 9th, 2008 at 6:07 pmReese Puffs is defnitely LOVE! :D

October 15th, 2008 at 3:28 pmNo way Cocoa Krispies are better than Cocoa Pebbles! I could se a tie between Cocoa Pebbles and Cocoa Puffs though. Cocoa Puffs should have ranked higher.
October 15th, 2008 at 9:51 pmReese’s and Cocoa Krispies are tied for 1st place!
November 8th, 2008 at 10:33 amHOW can you not have Nesquik cereal on here?!?!?!!? It’s the only chocolatey cereal I eat besides cocoa pebbles.
November 20th, 2008 at 12:56 amI think number 1A should be the Halloween version of Cocoa Krispies. It comes with marshmellows and puts good ol’ Count Chocula to shame.
February 10th, 2009 at 12:36 amWhat a list….a great bunch of them. They are definately a hit with my kids and friends. They sure love these chocolate cereal delights.

February 24th, 2010 at 6:57 pmYou definitely have to update this list with the newly introduced chocolate cereals: Chocolate Chex and Chocolate Cheerios!
I definitely vote for Reese’s Puffs as no. 1 instead of 2. I eat it like popcorn!
April 15th, 2010 at 2:06 pm1. The best chocolate cereal I’ve ever had was Chocolate Corn Flakes. I don’t know why Kellogg doesn’t have these as a regular item, but they’ve only made them available for short times, for some reason. I’m not a fan of regular Corn Flakes, but the chocolate version is delicious.
2. Cocoa Krispies and Cocoa Pebbles are not equal. Cocoa Pebbles is far better.
3. Reese’s Puffs is okay, but while I love peanut butter and chocolate, I don’t want them mixed in my cereal. This should be lower.
4. Chocolate Shredded Wheat ought to be somewhere on this list.
