Thanks to a brilliant merging of the minds at Hershey’s and The Styles Check Company, you can now broadcast your love of confections to any and everyone with whom you dare to share your wealth. Your landlord? Check. The phone company? Check. Your impossible-to-shop-for nephew whose birthday is just around the corner? Check! Forget online bill pay – writing checks is back and better than ever! (And you’ll be doubly excited to drop those babies in the mail when you see the matching address labels.)
One box of single checks contains four classic candy wrapper designs: Hershey’s Milk Chocolate (can you imagine the fun of paying for a single Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar with a Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar check?!), Mr. Goodbar, Krackel, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and sells for $15.95. First-time customers, however, pay only $9.95 and can get a second box for only $0.49 (and why wouldn’t you?). And if you go for the whole sweet shebang – 2 boxes of checks, 1 set of labels, and a Hershey’s leather checkbook cover – you save $5.00 at checkout.
With the standard shipping and handling fees, you can’t get out of there for less than $18.95, but your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed by the company, and Dana Michaels of 123 Any Street, Anytown, U.S.A. sure seemed satisfied, as her name was all over these goodies as well as the available matching Contact Cards.
Intrigued but not quite sold? The Styles Check Company also offers a line of Hershey’s Kisses checks and accessories (of which Dana Michaels is also a fan). I can’t wait till I get through this box of “retro graphic†I’m stuck with, so I can join the fun. (Only 176 more to go! Maybe they’ll expand to include my personal favorites – Twizzlers and York Peppermint Patties – by then.) Overnight shipping is available, too – in case rent is due tomorrow.
Working at walgreens, as cool as these checks are, I honestly hope no one would use a check to pay for a single candy bar simply for the “Check it out!” factor.
That said, I’d get em, probably never use em, but it’s a great idea for all those check-writers out there.
April 20th, 2008 at 1:11 amOh man, the Dana Michaels comments really cracked me up and took a “regular review” up a big ol’ notch for me, Monica – Thank You! This was really well-written and if I had the extra money, I’d forego the rest of my checks, recycle them and buy some of these! Maybe I will when MY checks run out…I only have about 50 to go…
