I live in the UK, in the home of Pontefract Cakes and Liquorice All Sorts. The town actually has a Liquorice Festival in July, with activities around the medieval town centre, and at the castle, (which, amazingly, was mentioned in Shakespeare's Richard III). It seems that the town's sandy soil is uniquely suited to growing liquorice, but now in fact the plant is imported from Spain. Well done on a great site!
