It’s a good day for a Candy Addict when you stumble upon a new candy that rocks your world. I was in Walgreen’s the other day picking up a prescription for my newly-acquired bronchitis (long story) and what did I see but a display of new Fire Twizzlers. A cinnamon Twizzlers! When had these come out? I had heard nothing about them! With my love of all things cinnamon, especially Atomic Fireballs, I had to try them.
These Fire Twizzlers are of the “Pull – n – Peel” variety; nine shoestring-thin ropes stuck together to make one solid rope. As you can see from the picture, they are nice and fresh and wonderfully soft. If you like hot cinnamon candy like Fireballs, you’ll love these.
Some of the bites have a nice spicy flavor to them that just tastes good. Some of them have a really spicy kick to them that makes me say “Damn, this is hot!” (but in a really good way). I love these things. They’re way better than Chewy Atomic Fireballs. These are the best non-chocolate candy I have eaten in ages and I am awarding them our coveted CandyAddict.com Awesomely Addictive Candy Award. I’m on my second bag in less than a week.
I talked with someone from Hershey’s and was told that “Fire Twizzlers are a customer exclusive – available only through Walgreens” – so if you want some of these, Walgreens is the only place to find them. The “Twizzler brand team” is supposed to be getting back with me with more information, but I wanted to go ahead and get this review out. I’ll update it if I get any more good info.

What a great Valentine’s Day candy! Let’s see…there’s a 24 hr Walgreen’s within walking distance…:)
January 28th, 2008 at 7:38 pmI’m so glad Tucson is LOADED with Walgreen’s; it sometimes feels like there’s one on every major corner. I’m NOT complaining, mind you! I have some friends who’re gonna be very excited when I forward this page to them…big time Twizzler’s AND Fireball fans, so they’ll be grabbin’ the car keys once they read this and racing out the door! I love to play with my food so have enjoyed the pull-n-peel Twizzlers so far. This sounds great and I’d've never have known about it if not for this site since I rarely go to Walgreen’s…THANK YOU!
January 28th, 2008 at 9:23 pmWell, I did it. Late last night I went to the nearby 24-hour Walgreens and bought a bag. Brian was spot on in his review: if you like cinnamon candy and you like it hot, you’ll love these! I just ate one, as a matter of fact and yes, I love to pull apart every strand and play with it while eating it. My tongue is still burning, but in a good way, as Brian put it!
When you open the bag (as I did inside the store once I bought it so I could share it with a few folks in line), you’re hit with an instant, “loud” cinnamon-fire-ball aroma, letting you know that you’re in for a spicy time with these ropes.
By the way, out of the four people in line, three loved them. The fourth wasn’t impressed. But he was from Thailand where they eat everything with a ton of those dang little incindiary peppers, so what does he know! We all agreed that Twizzler’s Cinnamon Fire beat out the other flavors and we hope they never stop making them. They were on special 2 for $3, but there was a $1 off store coupon so my purchase was a buck a bag! THAT is a deal, or as we say here in Tucson, a “ganga!”
Thanks to Candyaddict.com, I’m enjoying a fabulous new candy. I don’t pop into Walgreens too often, so I might never have found these. Not only are they really cinnamony and soft, but they’re fun to play with and I love playing with my food! Go get some and enjoy!
January 30th, 2008 at 12:13 amOh my — I’m soooo happy! I love spicy candy and licorice, so this is perfect for me :-) I’ll be running over to Walgreens tomorrow.
As a kid, I used to buy the super hot cinnamon toothpicks — I’d suck on them until my lips were stinging. Yum.
January 31st, 2008 at 3:02 amMy Walgreens in Oregon does NOT have these! I am P.’d Off! I asked about them and they had never heard of them! AAaarrgh!
February 1st, 2008 at 1:54 pmI wrote too soon. I went back right after writing that comment… let me tell you the story:
February 1st, 2008 at 3:30 pmYesterday (01/31/08) I went in and asked the manager at Walgreens if they had “Fire flavored Twizzlers” he responded that he had never heard of them, and I left. Today (02/01/08) I re-read this article and commented on my dissapointment, and then I decided…nay, I VOWED to go back and tell them that the Fire Twizzlers were exclusive to their store and demand that they look into why they did not have it. The manager wasn’t out on the floor. So, I talked to a regular employee. He said, “No, I…uh… wait a second, Cheryl or someone mentioned a new Twizzlers that she couldn’t find a spot for and left it in the back. I will call back there and find out if thats what it was.” Minutes passed until he came back and said, “We don’t have any ‘Fire’ but our invoice says we got 7 ‘Cinnamon’ Twizzlers.” I told him to find them and bring them out because that was probably them. He did, and they were the FIRE ones! Yay! Yay! Yay! I used the Coupon (available at the front door) that Julie Nicolay mentioned and Voila $1 a bag for two (THANK YOU JULIE!!!!)! They are Darn good eatin’ too!
I bought these based on this blog post, and I liked them a lot. The only problem is that it seems as though my tongue can’t handle eating at least one twist a day, because it feels like I burned it, actually; it feels like yesterday I drank boiling hot water, but I didn’t. I’ve just been eating the Fire Twizzlers, along with regular, non-burning food. This makes me sad, because I wanted to buy more of them.

February 5th, 2008 at 1:51 pmWow – you must not be used to spicy candy. I just downed three of them – my LAST three! I love them. I may have to go buy my 4th bag.
I must say, walgreens is the best! They always have candy in my nabe that nobody else does, such as chick o stick, and necco cream drops! I’ll be on the lookout the next time i go to walgreens!
February 7th, 2008 at 9:34 pmI coulda wet myself these were sooo good! Does anybody know if they’re a “permanent” addition, or just a Valentine thing? I don’t think they’ll last long either way.
February 22nd, 2008 at 2:30 amPerhaps they have added these to their line permanently. I just got a bag of these at Albertson’s.
June 2nd, 2008 at 11:57 pmI work at an “Affiliated Foods Midwest Store” in Cozad, NE, where someone just asked about these. Check my computer, and there they are!!
So, your local “Affiliated Foos Midwest Store” CAN get these, they are no longer an exclusive!
June 6th, 2008 at 6:51 pmI just bought some today at a Kroger grocery store in Indiana, on sale for $1. They are awesome!
June 19th, 2008 at 4:37 pmOMG All I can say is I’m salivating all over myself reading the blog, looking at the pic of the bag! I’m going to be making some people very happy with my gifts of this candy!!
September 15th, 2008 at 12:55 amI think I found mine at Target in Hoffman Estates, IL but will look Walgreens over too. I love this candy! And, what’s up with their website?? Ignoring this flavor??? That’s just wrong.
at first i tried Chocolate Twizzlers and i like it but not for me… so later on finally saw Cinnamon Twizzlers so i try that later til 1 week later so i decided to buy it and try it when i first open the cinnamon twizzler package it smells very strong wow.. and i took 1 out and bite em … whoooaa!! very spicy n hot!! alot better than all products in most stores.. I brought it for only $1.00 at Wal-Mart store in Wisconsin.. they’re the best one i ever try this and you should try that any sooner!! Great Job to the maker of Hershey Company!!
October 17th, 2008 at 1:57 amThese are fantastic – I just picked some up at the Rite Aid down the street for the first time and was so pleased I had to go online and find out more. But apparently they’re no longer Walgreens exclusives – that bodes well for them being sold for some time to come.
November 21st, 2008 at 12:52 amA marriage made in heaven — Pull and Peel Twizzlers & Hot Cinnamon! Two of my favorites. I have only been able to find the pull and peels in boring strawberry lately. I’m gonna have to find these…
December 5th, 2008 at 7:25 pmWow, 2008? I’m just now seeing these Fire Twizzlers and I’m in Denver. Maybe it just took that long to get them around the country? I tried them last week from someone else, and they said they got them at King Soopers (Kroger chain).
