I absolutely love the candy apple, and especially the peanut butter with the peanuts. When we went to the fair or to a Holloween Carnival as a child, it was a given that we got a candy apple. That was the best part!
Now as a mom of three, a 13,8 and 5 year old. I make a big deal out of making our own. Everyone pitches in to help. Someone dips the apples in the melted candy and another one wraps it in nuts before it hardens, and the next person puts the stick in the apple.
Also, you can cut some into small pieces and dip them like that for some who don't like to bite the whole apple. Lots of fun and good to eat!!!

I've had some specialty candy apples in the past. I still like the classic caramel apples, but recently I fell in love with a chocolate caramel apple! :-)

This cheesecake apple looks absolutely delicious. The one thing that we have never been fond is is the "candy" part of the apple most because it just hurt the teeth.

What is the white ribbon, though? You mention that it doesn't really taste like cheesecake, but I'm wondering how sweet it is.

I must admit, I've never been a really big candy apple fan, mostly because there was a whole lot more apple than candy, and well, that was just not right in my candy-lovers world. I'd wind up eating the candy and caramel with some bites of apple attached, and then tossing the rest of the apple as it was pretty boring now un-adorned with sugar. And that red candy stuff always got stuck in my teeth, which was so annoying, and not very attractive to dig out while strolling through the fairgrounds!

I'd love to try these flavors, though, and using Granny Smith apples definitely works for me since I love tart stuff, but apple "bites" would be MY preference; more coating to apple ratio!

Is White Ribbon just white chocolate, or is it something else? These could be easy to make in smaller form!
