After being stationed in England for 3 years (and enjoying Bounty bars whenever I wanted), I was moved to New Mexico. Fortunately for me, there is a tiny little quilt shop on Main street, which sells those exquisite chocolate and coconut confections! It's called the Patchwork House (not far off Hwy 60/84 - for those of you driving through Clovis New Mexico) Come on by, and you might see me there. I'll be the one with Chocolate on my mouth and coconut crumbs on my shirt! I love Bounty bars, but I think the icecream is almost better!

At least the Harrys Farmers Market (Whole Foods) in Alpharetta, GA does. Or you can make something very similar....very easy. Buy a bag of sweetened coconut, mix in 2/3 cup sugar, pinch salt, 6 tbsp of flour, 4 egg whites and tsp almond extract. Shape into balls and bake at 325 for 25 minutes, let cool and then coat with melted dove or ghiradelli chocalate....made them the other day, fantastic. Look at Whole Foods, they carry them. The chocolate crackeld in my mouth as I was taking the sticky delightful coconut out of the centre. Mmm, it was bliss. My first Bounty since, erm, Christmas! What a mistake that was...because it was an instant addiction!!!! WOW it was by far the most luscious and gratifying coconut candy bar I tasted in my entire life! Words alone can't express the how great tasting it is. My advice is the same as others' here, if you happen to find one, BUY IT, and you will see what we mean. By the way, my mouth is watering right now too...which isn't a good thing because I can't find Bounty where I live....(I used to live in CT, now am in PA). =( I guess I too will have to purchase them online...or convince the locals here to get them in their stores! I fact I like Almond Joys better because of that. For some reason almond based candy treats are a rarity here.
