The masterminds behind Homestarrunner.com must be closet Candy Addicts. Their detailed knowledge of retro candies in “The House That Gave Sucky Treats” certainly is impressive and out of the scope of common knowledge. Although, what really tips me off is one of the infamous Strong Bad emails about a candy bar. He even references the Periodic Table of Candy!
Strong Bad makes an excellent point: why is it athletes are the only ones who have the fun of getting their own candy bar? (I’m lookin’ at you Big Mo’!) This very question leads Strong Bad on a sugar filled fantasy on what the perfect candy bar would be. I have to say, he has pretty good taste in candy! The black in licorice in nougat sounds really good! He loses me when he gets to the pepperoni though.
This leads me to ask: are we the only one day dreaming these things? So what about you? If you made a candy bar for yourself, what would it be made of?
How about some nougat, caramel, peanuts, wafer cookie, gummy bears, rippled potato chip pieces, pretzel, and cover the whole thing with chocolate. Too much?
December 17th, 2007 at 1:39 pmHow could I possible decide? Caramel, all kinds of nuts, dark chocolate, peanut butter…
BTW, love this question :)
December 17th, 2007 at 7:56 pmi think that peanut butter, carmel, waffer cookies and melted chocolate covered in milk chocolate would be my candy if i could have on
February 2nd, 2008 at 5:16 pmpure nougat. Well, maybe nougat with crispy rice thingies throughout it. And chocolate on top. I’m not one for super crazy fancy stuff. I just love nougat.
May 3rd, 2008 at 1:16 pmwow….don’t even get me started on my ideal candy bar! lol
February 15th, 2009 at 1:37 pmhmm….there are several different combinations; for example, a candy bar that is merely that chocolate-covered honeycomb stuff would be soooo good! Or a candy bar (in the formation of a Butterfinger Crisp) that uses chocolate wafers, a thin layer of dark chocolate ganache (not unlike that of a Ferrero Rondnoir!) to replace the peanut butter stuff, coated in dark chocolate and topped off with a light sprinkling of tiny chocolate crispies. YUM!
