She'd always inspect it and take out the one's that looked like the wrappers were tampered with. As soon as I would complain, she would say, " well, you don't want to get sick now, do you??". I could never understand why she wanted to take my candy that could make her sick....of course now that I am older, I realize that she was splitting up the candy a la Ernie! ;) I think that my mom used to do this to me with my Halloween candy! My son likes it (it is actually the only candy I will share, HA). I ordered a variety pack from around the world from Licorice International because of Candy Addict. There are some GOOD ones.... and some UGH salty ones. I have found that most of the foreign ones are VERY chewy and/or hard. I have been trying to expand my appreciation for black licorice.
