Wow. I’m tired. It’s 1:44PM Chicago time and I ache all over. I’m sitting in the press room right now using their free WiFi access. I’ve talked to so many company reps it’s all blurring together. I even stopped by a booth that I visited the day before and realized when the lady turned around I had already talked to her. DOH! It’s a big blur of candy right now.
I’m really impressed by how well Candy Addict is received. Many of the companies can appreciate the exposure they can get by being reviewed/featured on the site. There are a few whose eyes seem to glaze over when I try to explain what Candy Addict is about. For those, I realize it’s futile so I try and get my card to them, get a card from them, and not waste any more time. Candy is an old business and some companies realize the power of the internet. Some don’t.
The highlight so far today was talking to a bigwig at Mars and going over the new Mars lineup. Limited Edition Cherry M&Ms (much like the Razzberry M&Ms) are on the way and Mint Crisp M&Ms are due out next year as a tie-in with the new Indiana Jones movie (much like the Pirate Pearls did with The Pirates of the Caribbean). 100-calorie packs and Generation Max are coming too.
