UPDATE: We got our hands on some and wrote a review of the Razzberry M&M’s.
This just in: M&Ms are getting a razzy makeover. For a limited time, you can try out the latest M&Ms creation – Limited Edition Razzberry M&Ms. They appear to be a milk chocolate confection, and the M&Ms Web site suggests that you move quickly, because “these berry babies will only be in season for so long.” On the M&Ms site, you can send friends and family an e-card featuring the new flavor of M&Ms.
Information on this new candy is thin right now, but check back with us for updates and reviews of Razzberry M&Ms as soon as we get them.
UPDATE: We just received the press release:
M&M’S® Razzberry Chocolate Candies offer the sweet flavor of raspberries as a delightful complement to the classic M&M’S® milk chocolate taste. M&M’S® Razzberry Chocolate Candies are “in season” and available in stores for a berry limited time of six weeks. They will reach their peak in September and October.
To support this first-ever, national launch of a fruit-flavored M&M’S® candy in stores, M&M’S® conducted research and discovered raspberry is one of the most popular fruit flavors.
Shoppers can grab their bags of special limited edition M&M’S® Razzberry Chocolate Candies in prominent, impactful point-of-sale displays nationwide in food, mass, convenience and drug stores. M&M’S® Razzberry Chocolate Candies can be found in a bright pink package on which Red announces, “This is Berry Cool.”
M&M’S® Razzberry Chocolate Candies will be available for only six weeks in food, mass, convenience and drug stores. They are offered in single 1.50 oz., 11.8 oz. and 18.6 oz. packaging for $.55, $2.96 and $4.39 SRP.
They are available in Oregon. I bought some at ShopKo last week. The shell is “razzberry” and the chocolate is regular M&M chocolate. The size surprised me… about the size of the Peanut Butter M&Ms. They are all the same color too (light red).
August 16th, 2007 at 10:49 amThese should be a big hit, raspberry and chocolate were made for each other.
August 16th, 2007 at 1:12 pmHmmmm I thought it would be dark chocolate and raspberry? Maybe dark chocolate just seems more niche like these will be.
Also *razzberry* bleh! That makes it sound like fake-o raspberry flavor. They should have gone with the regular spelling.
August 16th, 2007 at 2:57 pmAs one of my favorite chocolate/other combinations is raspberry, I’ll be on the lookout for these! I swoon over Godiva’s chocolate-raspberry candy, dark or light, I don’t care, it’s that good. See’s Candies makes an awesome one, too, and luckily for me living in Tucson, the See’s just happens to be within close driving distance (as if it still wouldn’t be if it were far away, hah)! What’s not to love about a place that upon walking in the door, immediately offers to you a FREE piece of chocolate from their collection, and is offered by a truly sincere and smiling, retro-outfitted employee? My kind of place, you bet!
August 16th, 2007 at 3:56 pmMy husband got his hands on a bag of these in early June. They were to die for, and it is a bad idea to keep them limited edition as they’re sure to be a hit. M&M’s just shouldn’t tease me like that. I haven’t found them since, and my mouth waters just thinking about them. If you find them, put them in the freezer—even better!
