DIY Candy Sushi

Candy Sushi

Way back when (also known as 2005), we featured an article about Koo-ki Sushi, which was actually candy shaped to look like traditional sushi. Well, now you can make it yourself!

A fellow Candy Addict who goes by applesticker over at Instructables has posted instructions and pictures detailing how you can use Rice Krispie Treats, Fruit Rollups, and various gummi candies to create some very realistic-looking sushi goodies. It looks so good, I might even get over my food poisoning-induced sushi aversion!

  1. I have a great friend who LOVES sushi. Thanks for sharing. I am totally going to make this for her.

  2. I have a good friend here in Tucson who’s “crazy” older aunt makes this and sends it to him in a wax paper-lined shoebox, just like a “crazy” older aunt should do. I’d never seen it anywhere else until today on this blog! We joke about it, but I think it’s really cool and the artist in me wants to give it a go to see how realistic I can make it…mmmm, I LOVE sushi in any form!

  3. I made candy “sushi” once.

Except i used nerds as the “rice” and starbursts as the “crab or w/e” and used roll ups as the “seaweed”.

    It was SUPER YUMMY!!!
