I just have to say they are my all time favorite candy I love them they remind me of home made peanut better fudge with a butter scotch twist I also have a hard time finding them. I sometimes run across them at gas stations in the candy isle, I have seen them at the dollar tree in the candy isle but they really are hard to find but when I see them I'll always buy a hand full...... It is a childhood memory candy I search for thats why I love them I guess.
I grew up in Virginia but I now live in North Carolina.
The mello cup is awsome to, I love them both equally the same.

Heather:

A friend of mine just gave me a box of the smoothies after I told her how much I missed them. I hadn't had one in decades. They are the best. When you say you didn't know that the coating was butterscotch, maybe you used to eat their regular peanut butter cup, which is more like a Reeses.

Like Sam (Comment #4), I never knew the coating was supposed to be butterscotch. The whole thing tastes peanut buttery to me. I thought they were nice to try once, but I'd be more likely to go with a Mallo Cup if they were sitting side-by-side.

I love this candy. Nothing else like it. I have to order it from the company because I can't find it anywhere in manhattan! This is a classic.

I haven't had one of these in years and used to love them. I wonder if I still would today? Probably, given my love of pretty much all candy! I never paid in-depth attention to its makeup when I was eating them, I just happily ate 'em, so it was great to read such a detailed article about an old favorite.

I tried these about two years ago after first trying Reese's, I was told these were better.

I was lied to, these made me physically sick, actually sick in the toilet they were that bad. Absolutely horrid things.
