If you’ve ever needed an excuse to consume chocolate, take advantage of Chocolate Day. The holiday, started by the National Confectioners Association, falls on July 7 every year.

Here are some ideas for celebrating Chocolate Day the Candy Addict way:

If all else fails, you can pick up a serving of your favorite chocolate candy and have at it. After all, chocolate is better than kissing! Even better: dark chocolate may be heart healthy.

I didnt know it was Chocolate Day! What a great reason to run off to the store to get myself a treat. I love too many different kinds of chocolate to even start listing…but I do love DARK chocolate just a little bit more than milk chocolate.

I don’t think I could pick out my favorite chocolate of all time, but I think the proper celebratory purchase tonight will have to be a Whitman’s Sampler, which I will share with everyone. Except for the caramels. And probably the coconuts. But the strawberry cremes are definitely on the sharing table.

My favorite chocolate has to be my own! But the best part about being a chocolatier is getting to eat my mistakes, and sneaking a taste of chocolate just as it’s setting up – nothing else like it.
