I don't think the taste is "practically insignificant" - but then, I was expecting a next to nothing taste anyway since I've never come across a truly good-tasting original Peep. Maybe I've just gotten into bad lots. But that's the only reason I tried these, because I thought maybe it would taste like more than chalk (I was right!). Anyway, I'm going to buy more cocoa ones before Easter is over, lest the vultures around here scoop 'em all up. They're really, really good. If I were you, I'd try to find a store that has the absolute freshest candy - maybe you got some from the first batch produced this year and hence they were blander.
