AHA! I spotted Bubu Lubu at Publix in Lilburn, GA (pockets of Latino residents): bought, consumed, and enjoyed it. The wacky mascot intrigued me: Casper the Friendly Ghost’s wild nephew!

ok so I just tasted it…..not bad, but it’s weird. Luckily it isn’t a repulsively sweet as I had feared, but it tastes alot like fake chocolate. I have the other half of it in the freezer so I can try it as suggested.

Jean: Gansitos can be purchased at Ralph’s Grocery store and many 7-11 locations. I see them there all the time.

ANyway…I have a Bubu Lubu that I have yet to try…I will certainly give it a taste…
And I see these things at all the 7-11s in the area, so apparently you don’t have to go to a hispanic store to get them. But then again, I live in southern California.

Some friends of mine just returned from Mexico and brought me an assortment of Mexican candies – they are wonderful! Definitely will have to freeze one or two. I will now have to start trying to locate them locally – don’t know if South Louisiana will be a good hunting ground.

you can find these at Target now, or at least at some Targets(if they dont carry them, there isnt even a slot for them), always up at the registers. i bought one on a whim, now i get one every time im up at a Target(which is alot). its a good thing they dont sell them by the case, or id be in serious trouble. the review is right on, but have never tried them frozen. they are sweet, but are small. and fairly low in fat to boot! i love em!

My girlfriend took me to Ensenada for my B-Day, while watching the locals and boat people from our balcony, we saw the Bubu Lubu truck deliver to the local liquor store. We went on an ice run, and inquired about Bubu Lubu, not knowing what it was. They did not have any and could not explain what it was other the candy. So, I have done my research and will indeed get some for my sweety. Thanks for your info..

I discovered Bubu Lubu at an H.E.B. grocery store in Austin, TX. I bought a 3-pack because of the description and cute package, and ate all three between the store and my hotel room. Pure heaven, if you’re a jelly-and-marshmallow candy fan (which some of us are)! I bought 30 more and have been hoarding them since my return to NC. Does anyone know if they’re available outside of Texas? I was considering freezing them; glad to hear that’s a good option, too.

Also, does anyone remember “Gansitos”? They were Little Debbie-like chocolate cakes with a marshmallow and jelly center; I haven’t had them in years…
