The guys at The Sugar Revolution have found another candy we can add to our ever-growing list of oddly named candies — this one is the Picnic Hedgehog. The reviewers of this curiously dubbed product say that milk chocolate smothers peanuts, chocolate fudge, biscuit pieces, caramel and wafers in a 45g bar.
The Sugar Revolution writers say they purchased the Picnic Hedgehog for $1.75 at 7-11, but they live in Australia, so don’t expect to see it in your local 7-11 (unless you happen to live in Australia, of course). According to this page, Picnic Hedgehog was the 60th most popular candy in Australia for the past four months! If I can ever find one of these, I’m definitely buying it. Not just because I like all the ingredients, but because who can resist eating candy called Picnic Hedgehog? And you have to love the slogan for the Cadbury Picnic bars: “Deliciously Ugly.”
On a totally unrelated note: Cookie Dough Kit Kat! (found while researching Picnic Hedgehog)

They mean hedgehog like the chocolate slice filled with nuts and crushed biscuit, not hedgehog like the animal.
