Last week, my daughter went to a birthday party and the host family had a rabbit named Skittles. That got me trying to think of all the candy-related terms/names that double as pet names. I met a rabbit named Skittles, Snickers was originally named after a horse, my wife’s grandmother has a dog named Taffy, what others can we think of? Here is what I have so far:

LOL, this is great. Completely unintentionally, I’ve had many food-themed pets in my life, though most aren’t candies. There’s Spice the cat, Cookie the horse, Chip the dog (ok, stretching it a little), Lollipop the bunny, Parfait the hamster, Guinness the guinea pig, and Coco the horse (really named after Coco Chanel, but she gets called Cocopuff a lot).

His dad was a Golden Retriever and his mom was a Chocolate Labrador (Max, our golden retriever, “jumped the neighbor’s fence”). He came out mostly chocolate colored, but his paws, tail tip and nose were spot on the color of peanut butter! He was an amazing dog!

Have had other pets non candy named but after Hershey the candy theme came to play. I actually googled candy names to think of what the next pet name might be. Chip is the only pet still living…. The Nestle passed a year ago. So, just thinking… :o)

my next was a cat-i wanted to name her “baby” so her full name is baby ruth.
my next cat was found. she was really sneaky. i named her snickers.
my next cat was a male. i named him “nips” for the cookie.
than i got another cat. I named her “sweetheart,” sweetie for short.
my next animal was a dog. she is yellow and white like “vanilla” and i just call her “nilla” for short.
my next animal was white with brown/black spots. very beautiful colors. her name was oreo. however she also adopted the nickname “kitters”
