Vegas Gummi Dice
Back in May I wrote about casino candy and just last week I got a shipment of some various Vegas-themed candies in for me to review. First up were the red gummi dice. They come in packs of about 20 dice and each one is individually wrapped and about the same size as a standard die. They are the “tough” gummi as opposed to the soft gummi and surprisingly they are peach-flavored despite them being red. My wife loves gummi peach rings so she loves the gummi dice. I’m not a huge fan of peach-flavored anything so I wasn’t nearly as impressed. These also come in white dice with blue dots.
Vegas Gummi Poker Chips
The gummi poker chips also come in a bag of about 20 individually wrapped poker chips and they come in three denominations/colors: red is 1000, black is 100, and green is 50. These too are tough gummies and all seem to be some generic fruity flavor which was fairly boring. (I was pleased to find that the black ones are not licorice flavored.) The numbers on each chip appear to be hand-painted and the colored stripes add a nice touch to them.
Vegas Jelly Pops
I had seen jelly pops before when we made our Comprehensive List of Nintendo Candy and I wondered what jelly pops were exactly. Now I know. Despite being on a stick, they really aren’t lollipops, they are soft sugar-coated gummi candies. They also have some candy icing/decorations to complete the look. The jelly pops come in a variety pack of three types: a poker chip, a classic Vegas sign, and 2 red dice. None of them tasted great, but they weren’t bad.
All of the Vegas candies are very cool to look at but none of their tastes knocked my socks off. Let’s be honest though, you’re not buying these for the taste, you’re buying them for the novelty and these would be awesome to have at your next casino/poker night. You can get any or all of these Vegas candies plus lots more at VegasImage.com.
First of all, great site :-D great job with the awesome candy info!
November 13th, 2006 at 3:19 am- I actually have had these gummy dice when I went to vegas last year and I was surprised that they were not too bad. They are basically coated with sugar, so the texture is kinda crystalized while the inside is gummy. They are surprisngly big as well. Not the best bargain since you have to buy them in vegas gift stores though. A good investment for gummy addicts, but I would pass if you are not too fond of different types of gummy candy.
I got some simpsons jelly pops a few years ago for christmas (they tied it in the bow of the present, I am a huge fan of the simpsons) and I finally ate them a year or two after I got them (I have this thing where when I get something simpsons I want to keep it forever) I wanted a sugar rush really bad so I started in on one. It was hard and sugary at first but then it gradually became gelatiny and gummy. They were really good. I think i’ve only seen them once after that unfortunately and I was broke at the time. And if anyone is curious they were bart and marge and I did feel creepy when I was eating them.
November 13th, 2006 at 7:58 pm[...] Because they’re never too young to start betting it all. Gummi dice also available for all your favorite young gamblers. And while we’re on the topic of inappropriate for kids: How about beer-flavored sunflower seeds? This can be washed down with a Rehab Recovery Supplement Energy Drink (soon to be co-branded by either Hasbro or the Betty Ford Clinic, I’m sure). Oh hell just go read Junk Food Blog yourself, will you? [...]
