I am soo excited I found this site!! Hopefully someone will remember my favorite childhood Easter candy. I remember them being similar to the marshmallow chicks and rabbits Brachs puts out now. However my candies were not soo much like circus peanuts, and they were individually wrapped. They came in many colors to a bag (lavender, green, blue, yellow, and pink if im not mistaken. I have not seen them anywhere but I crave them always.

In response to "Old-Time Flicks" (27): I was just reminiscing about Debeukeler wafers w/ cousins whom I visited. No one recalled ever experiencing these, but they suggested I google it, so here I am at the only google site mentioned. I must say you (and I) have sophisticated taste in candy. The last time I remember having one was when I was about 8 y.o. My dad used to take me to a soda fountain shop on Clinton and Delancey St on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, where I grew up. My dad would have an egg cream and I'd have a chocolate malted + a pretzel stick which I loved to dip in the malted. The top off was buying a Debeukelr wafer on our way out. I still remember the flavor and delightful fragrance of the exquisite, generous dark chocolate (similar to the best present day Valrhona chocolate)skirting a perfect wafer. Yes, it was square shaped and wrapped in a deep brown and gold paper; and yes, I am still trying to get the pronunciation and spelling correct, although I recall the spelling exactly as you do. Oh, for a Debeukeler wafer now!

I have a chocolate candy box that holds my mother's letters from my father during WWII. The type of chocolate is called "Gold lace". The box is white paper cardboard embossed with a pattern of blue and white lace. An oval of gold embossed lace pattern surrounds a blue inside oval. In that oval is embossed in gold, "Donna Deane Boston Chocolates." The letters from my father are from 1940-1945. Of course this does not necessarily tell how old the box is, as my mother could have found it into the 1960's. I hope this gives some info to you. RR

Hey, fellow candy lovers.... I am remember a candy we sold as a fundraiser in AL in the 70's. These were small boxes of mint caramel candies - one flavor had chocolate on the outside and the other had some sort of green outer covering. I ate most of them myself - they were delicious!

BTW you can still buy Razzles at different places. Another of my favorites is the Fizzers, similar to Smarties but better and made in England (Swizzles Matlow), no longer imported.

From the 50's there was 3 different fruit flavors that came in a small gold metal pan with matching spoon. Does anyone know anything about that?

Thank you!

Does anyone remember these grape dinosaur egg candies? They werent the wonka eggs. They were called dinosaur eggs I think. There was a grape flavor,I don't remember if there were any others. They were chewy and kinda gross. They were around in the 90s. It's driving me nuts.
