Once again, Target has cute four-packs of Limited Edition Halloween soda available. I had seen the Candy Corn Soda last year but missed out on getting some. This year, I managed to snag a 4-pack for a measly $1.49 at Target. They are made by the Jones Soda Company and since they make some great “regular” soda, I had high hopes for the Candy Corn Soda.
At first taste, it tastes just like a cream soda (which I love), but after a second there is another taste….a taste of…..YUCK. It does taste a lot like liquid candy corn and is super sweet, but it’s not good. If you pour it into a glass, it is the brightest yellow/orange drink I think I have ever seen. It looks radioactive. I thought it might glow in the dark, but alas, it doesn’t.
Target and Jones Soda also have three other flavors of Halloween soda in the same 8 oz. cans: Gruesome Grape, Spider Cider, and Berried Alive, but since those aren’t candy-related, I won’t be reviewing them (and after trying the Candy Corn Soda, I’m not sure I want to anyway).
If you’re a Jones Soda fan check out the Jones Soda candy that Target as on their front end
October 30th, 2006 at 8:48 pmI also tried the candy corn soda, and yes it is very gross!! The spider cider tastes like a sweeter version of apple cider and the gruesome grape taste like regular grape soda. Both are waaaaaaay better than the candy corn soda.
October 31st, 2006 at 12:26 amOh, i forgot to mention, I also tried the Jones Soda candy that are at Target checklanes. They are gross. They are supposed to fizz but they barely do. All in all, I am not suggesting these to anyone, and I love trying new things!
RESPONSE: Yeah – I\’m pretty sure they are almost the same as the CO2 Carbonated Candy since they are made by the same company – Big Sky Brands. That\’s why I haven\’t tried them.

November 2nd, 2006 at 12:26 pmI’ve tried all five (last year’s four and this year’s addition of the grape).
The Cider soda was drinkable, the Grape was awesome, and the other three were disgusting.
The Grape one tasted like I’d imagine a well done Mountain Dew Grape (instead of orange or red) to taste like, not the gross Halloween Mountain Dew Grape they made however long ago.
November 15th, 2006 at 5:38 pmI’m drinking it right now, and seriously, after 3 sips I just wanna barf. It IS radioactive, I feel if I drink anymore I’m going to get cancer. Their Strawberry soda (I think it’s called Strawberry Slime?) didn’t taste half bad :)
October 28th, 2007 at 5:53 pmI bought these because they interested me, because I thought… what the HECK would a candy corn flavoured soda taste like. I kept two, and mailed two to my friend in California who I thought should have to suffer while we tried them, too. So we tried them at the same time, and it was exactly like you said. At first it’s like, Oh, maybe this is okay…. oh wait… no, OH GOD GET OUT OF MY MOUTH.
Luckily the cans are small. When there was like a third left, I tried to hurry up and drink it all just to get rid of it, I even plugged my nose (which helps barely). And when I did that, I started to feel okay about it, like YAY it’s gone, but then I unplugged my nose and I was hit with the worst taste in my mouth, my gag reflex actually picked up. Luckily I could contain it, because I didn’t want bright vomit all over my keyboard.
The cans are cute, but the actual drink… stay far away from it. Unless you want to play a trick on someone and mix it in with their Mountain Dew, since it’s also a really bright colour.
The second can of my candy corn soda is right here… but no way am I going to drink it. I think I’ll give it to my father who has an interest in different flavours of sodas and wish him good luck and God speed.

October 6th, 2009 at 9:22 pmHello guys, I must be one of the only few who enjoy this soda, I love the candy corn soda.
It is November 15th, and I picked it up at a store in my town called World Market, and they sold it and 5 other flavors for .20 cents a four pack. My girl friend doesn’t like it, she perfers the Pomegranate which I must say is my favorite. The Lemon drop is very sour and the Kiwi is very good as well. Berried alive I tried in 2008 and I liked it too. Jones’ Is amazing Lol
